Last night Mark wondered if the boat should be taken out of the pond so the horses don't wreck it, I told him the only mare that would jump in the pond here was Ciera and she now lives in Colorado. Well Ayanna today was having a ball running down the hill and throwing herself into the pond.
She was all shiny and clean when she came running up, perfect for a few pictures.
Ayanna just happens to be Ciera's full sister. She grew up at Middle Grove knowing the lakes are a great way to cool off and get away from flies. Not that there are many flies out yet, we had a pretty hard frost this morning. It was very pleasant outside today warming up into the upper 60s and sunny. Killian had knocked down a board during the night, Mike put it back up and installed electric fence all the way around his paddock. Valiant ended up in the wrong field, I found a downed wire, either he rolled too close to the fenceline then got under it or somehow climbed through. He was actually glad to get back into his own field when he was rescued. Sure hope Marika has her foal tonight. She was tested this afternoon right at 250. Dr. Hoerr called today, he needs to come collect Evan, we already have an appointment Monday the 20th to ultrasound Lexi the Morgan mare so we discussed combining that call with the collection. He just needs to see if the mare will be ready then. The mare is a black Friesian x Saddlebred out of Raven.
