Nasty Day

Gray, cold and damp with the clouds spitting at us this morning did not make for a pleasant day. We shivered on our walk. Mike got the new tire on the golf cart and driving that over to the meeting place made me realize a sweat shirt and wind breaker wasn't enough today.
Today was cleaning day. The office was given a thorough cleaning, all the laundry done and everything borrowed returned all before lunch. It was really nice to have the entire day without once needing to drive anywhere.
Steven showed up around 2:45pm to take the truck and trailer out to Middle Grove. Dalia has her coggins scheduled tomorrow. He brought her back full of burrs which will need to be cleaned out before the vet gets here tomorrow afternoon.
The barn was swept and the doors closed tight against the cold. Karin got here after 3:00pm to warm Ribbon up before the vaulters came and had to warm herself up first before heading outside.
Sandy and her husband (the people that owned Sanrose stable) came over for a nice visit. All the horses were glad for the company. The boys had to show off for them with Evan bowing, laying down, then sitting up. Once we were out of their paddock, they started running, bucking and rearing showing off for the company. We would have watched longer but the rain started coming down a bit harder encouraging us to make our way into the office for some delicious hot chocolate.
Almost everybody out here in Meisterville will be going in to church early tonight. Peoria is having the first of 5 weeks of outreach inviting families from the south end for a meal and lesson.
