Into the Light

The picture above was on the camera from summer. Don't know why it was never downloaded but thought it was intriguing. Rhoda and Ylse were walking through a sunbeam.
We had a rough night last night, after the long day yesterday fell into bed at 8:30pm. At 10:30pm Darcy started insisting on going outside. For some reason I thought it was the middle of the night. Then at 4:30am Emma wanted out. It was hard to get moving this morning. Sangria was taken over to Raven this morning for teasing. There is still no sign of her coming back in so she is probably pregnant. Her filly was put with Indy, her best friend, while the teasing was going on and all was well. This is in preparation for her weaning. JoHanna will be leaving for Florida and we want her weaned without a lot of drama.
The check for Sanna was deposited and a new book of checks picked up from Mike and Diane's office. A check was written out to Gary Unsicker for the last cutting of the hay. Diane will mail it out. Just before leaving the farm this HUGE truck pulled up. My first thought was OH NO WHAT DID SPARK BUY NOW? Our excavator is broken and thought just maybe this was the replacement but no, this was Dave Hoerr's Huge excavator here to work around Mark's drained pond. Notice how small it makes the semi truck pulling the trailer look.

A trip to Davenport, IA was next to pick up Super. Super is by Raven out of Cindy. He was born September 15th, 2007 making him just 4 years old. He is a very black handsome fellow, looks just like the expensive Dale Pony from England. He has great ground manners and during the talk with the barn owner learned he was a barn favorite, known as a big teddy bear. Here he will NOT be allowed to be a pasture ornament, he WILL be trained. He will be sticked tomorrow and pictures placed on Cindy's page.
Super and I arrived home around 6:45pm just as the sun was setting. It was amazing to see how much Dave Hoerr got done around the pond. He took down hundreds of trees around the pond and cleared a nice wide path around the back side.
