Heavy Puppies

The morning was beautiful, cool and very comfortable for our walk. Phil brought Braelyn out and she got to go also in the stroller. We spent some time at the end of the walk visiting, hearing all about Fede's job up in MN where the owner actually hired a chef to do the cooking.
Katy Hofstetter was bringing Bibles back from the home and taking 12 boxes to Toledo, OH to be wrapped and asked to meet me at Meisters around 9:00am.
The big garage door wasn't working and all the boxes needed to be hauled in and out through the small door. I went looking for the breaker where I thought the box was and found at least 20 breaker boxes all on poles, pretty confusing but it is Meister Electric's warehouse. It turned out just the garage door opener was unplugged.
Braelyn slept in the car driving in to Peoria, the entire time we worked and driving back but that kind of ruined her 3 hour nap for the rest of the day. Jenis' colt was running a fever this morning and the earliest vet appointment we could get was at 3:00pm which I thought would work out perfect. While Braelyn was cat napping the dump trailer was unhooked and the stock trailer hooked up. Beth Meister stopped in to see the puppies and I told her she was my plan B if the all the puppies don't sell. Yesterday I told everyone at the lake Beth was plan B and mom felt that wasn't fair to her. Well today she GLADLY said she would be my plan B. When we walked into the barn there was a special gift waiting. On Friday on our walk we were talking about needing a new 4 wheeler. I mentioned that I didn't want a 4 wheeler I would prefer an electric golf cart, then today there is an electric golf cart sitting in the arena all ready to go. How does this happen? Beth and I needed to go for a quick spin.
Right after Beth left the vet's office called to say the afternoon appointments had canceled and could we come now. Jenis and her colt were loaded, then the 10 puppies all while Braelyn was watching in her stroller but when I realized the pups could crawl through the divider of the trailer and went to get boards to put up, she started fussing then crying, the puppies were squealing for Emma, Emma was barking, Jenis was stomping and I did what every BAD grandma does, I put Braelyn in her car seat and propped the bottle. Emma was going to be put in the house but she found some fresh green manure to roll in and it was all over her. She started following the truck and we couldn't have that. There was no way she could be put inside in her stinky gross condition so she was put in the stall area with a board across that she would be able to jump as soon as we were gone.
Phil was waiting at Dr. Hoerr's office to take Braelyn. The colt had a fever of 104, blood work was drawn, cultures taken and drugs given. He will go back tomorrow for an update but is already feeling better. He was sent home with just one shot for tomorrow morning.
The puppies were all weighed, wormed and given their first shots. The smallest pup weighed in at 10.6 and the largest pup a whopping 12.1 pounds! They are only 6 weeks and 3 days old.
When Mark got home he was given a ride around almost the entire farm in the golf cart, then when Rhoda came we took Darcy for a ride over to mom's picked mom up, drove to Diane's and back. Rhoda helped take updated pictures of the pups but the camera died before we could download them. Hopefully tomorrow when it is charged up the internet will be working long enough to download them.
