We CAN

I woke up at 4:45 am and was afraid to let myself fall asleep so just got up then. I needed to relieve Rachel at the hospital and this way I had time for a couple cups of coffee. I made it there by 6:30 am. Rachel and Nancy had a hard night, not much sleeping happened. One of the problems was when they came in at 2:00 am to draw blood and woke Nancy up thinking that she would cooperate. Nope there was NO WAY she was going to hold still for that and would not give them her arm. Rachel finally explained they need to come back in the day time. Evidently the vampire blood drawer went out and told the nurse that the patient refused. Rachel had to explain again, Nancy would cooperate but she needs to be awake first so they should come during the day. When they did come back Nancy did cooperate. It helped that one of her dear caregivers from the home showed up right then.

Below Nancy was coloring while waiting for her breakfast to arrive.
The echocardiogram was done this morning when she was waiting for her breakfast. Tyler showed up with the machine and Nancy did ok for a while. Below Tyler is just setting up.
The gel used for this machine is cold and Nancy would flinch but still held still. The last part was to sonagram under her chin on her neck. It was then that she started to cry. She had been so brave until then and it isn't that this test hurt it she just didn't understand why she couldn't move. I have a problem with sympathy tears but we got through the test. It helped that breakfast arrived and she had that to look forward to.
After all of that trauma she was more than ready to take a nap after breakfast and slept at least an hour. Lunch arrived about the same time as Ruth. I left for home then. Lily, Tatiana, Cookie and the colt were by the pond and just then Lily walked down to take a drink out of the pond. The colt followed and also drank.
I took a few more pictures.

Rain was moving in but before it arrived I took a picture of the redbud tree with the dark clouds behind.
I made a pizza for supper and will plan on taking some with me tomorrow to the hospital. I had not eaten breakfast and there is no chance to leave the room to get some food and I had only packed a banana for today. It was raining pretty hard by 6:00 pm when I left to pick up Ruth and Fedi. Tonight we had make up communion at Skylines for those that couldn't be at church on Psalm Sunday. That was very nice. We met in an upper room (the quilting room) and that made it special. It was still raining when we left there but stopped just as we reached Ruth and Fedi's house so they didn't have to walk in the rain. Rachel took Ruth's place, Diane took Rachel's place and Joan will take Diane's place and spend the night tonight. She needs to be relieved before 7:00 am. We CAN do this, we CAN do this!
