We had lots of lightning during the night and even some rumbles of thunder but only got about a quarter inch of rain. I went up to the stall barn as soon as it was light enough to see to put Lily and her colt outside. She was really glad to get out of the stall. I got the stall cleaned before going back inside. On the way in I noticed the daffodils are coming up with the warmth yesterday and now the rain.
Ruth and I stopped in at mom's before the walk to make sure she wanted to come to Berean with us today. She was counting on it. We had a good walk but it was much cooler than yesterday. Joan told us about her morning at the dentist office yesterday with mom. She doesn't know how it happened but she ended up going an hour earlier than their appointments. I believe this was of God and I'll explain why. Mom was called in but Joan was still in the waiting room when a little old lady came in with her walker and was moving quite quickly. Joan said to her, "my mom would be jealous to see you moving so quickly" The lady came and sat next to her and explained, "I'm 98 years old and I don't know why I'm still here. I'm so ready to go home to heaven but God is just not listening to me." Joan asked her, "do you have children?" to which she replied, "yes." Joan asked, "Do you have grandchildren?" to which she replied, "yes." Then Joan asked, "Do you pray for them?" and the response was "Oh YES." Joan then said, "God still has work for you to do, it isn't that HE isn't listening to you." That caused the lady to tear up and she told Joan, "you are here today to tell me that HE IS listening to me! Thank you SO much." Now we know why Joan arrived an hour early. She had a divine appointment just for a 98 year old lady who God loves enough to give assurance that HE is listening. After the walk Ruth and I went right to mom's then to Berean. If you would like to read about our morning there click HERE. We stopped at the Hanna City post office on the way home from Berean to drop off the Bibles and the mail Then to Ruth's as her van wasn't done. Karin had lunch waiting for us. She made some chicken salad from the rotisserie chicken, added all kinds of goodies to is such as mayo, celery, cashews and grapes, and wrapped it in a spinach wrap. By the time I got home Mark had the dishes done. Mike wanted to bring the 4 mares at the cabin field over here so Mark helped move a bale into the paddock next to Valiant. Lea and Thalia were moved in there. That chewed up board came from the TB mares. We had to move them into the middle paddock. They don't chew the wood there probably because that is such a big paddock.Next he brought Sally and Missy over and put them in with the 2 TB mares.
Sally and Missy went running to the back of the paddock thinking the back gate was open. The 2 mares followed them down.
They stopped quickly when Sally and Missy told them not to get too close. They quickly ran back up to the gate.
They really need to learn how to live in a herd. Mike wants them to bond some with these two then he will haul all 4 out to Middle Grove.
Lea and Thalia came over to check them out. Below is Thalia baby talking to Aiken. She is saying, "please don't hurt me, I'm just a baby."
Mark wanted Mike to check out a broken post in the West field so they walked out to check it out. Below they are coming back.
Lily and her colt were let out into the big field to graze.
Mike took the 4 wheeler out to the post to check it out a bit better and when he was driving the 4 wheeler back Lily pretended to be scared and ran back into the field.
The gate was left open and I went inside to do a little house cleaning and a couple loads of laundry. We were just getting supper started when David arrived to get his taxes done. Stephanie came too but took the kids to the barn to play for a while. They stopped in once David had finished. After supper Lily was put back in the pasture and the gates shut. She went right into the paddock to get a drink. She really is queen bee around here. She is the only mare I feel free to leave loose so she can come and go at will.
