Lily's Home (her colt too)

It was hard to roll out of bed this morning and I delayed doing that until almost 5:30 am. Since it was Saturday the extra half hour in bed really didn't matter. Mark went out to feed the cat while I made breakfast. Today he wanted ham and Swiss cheese instead of sausage and an avocado then when I asked if he wanted eggs too he said yes. By the time he got his plate he was a little surprised by the amount of food but everything on it was what he asked for.

I left at 8:30 am to go to Sam's club as I needed some food for tomorrow's dinner, paper towel and toilet paper for the barn and Karin wanted a chicken and coffee. I made it home in time to take Karin her groceries, put my groceries away and drop of the supplies for the barn and still made it to mom's by 10:00 am. Karin had given Molly a bath and mom was busy brushing her when I arrived.
Mom and I had a good morning. It was so nice outside we went out on the deck to spy on our very noisy neighbors. One goose couple were furious that the other couple landed on the lake and both sets started fighting. We didn't get the first part videoed but it looked like they were trying to drown each other. The video is the tail end of the fight.
Joan sure has a lot of canoes and boats at her house.
Had to get a close up of that pile.
Mom has 4 here.
We went in at 12: 15 for lunch.
Mike called about 1:00 pm to ask if I could help him move Lea and Thalia over to the cabin field. Karin was just a few minutes away so I took the golf cart over and followed them back to the field.
Karin had also gone grocery shopping and had a lot of bags to bring in. We each took a few trips from the car to the house. Berlica arrived about then with a surprise. She, Mackenson, Sarah and Mark had gone to work at Maria's house and Berlica found this little guy.
Below she is showing the cute little mouse to mom.
Mom's reaction was do NOT let that go in the house.
I left then as Mike and Diane were willing to go to Middle Grove to pick up Lily and her colt. Mike wanted to bring Sally home too to put in with Lea and Thalia. When we arrived Mike went walking through the herd checking each horse. The horses were glad to see him again.
The video is against the sun so not the best.

Lily waited for me to get to her, stood quietly while her halter was put on then very slowly we walked to the trailer. Thank goodness we had a 3rd person today. Mike haltered Sally and tied her then took Lily's leadrope while I walked behind the baby to make sure he stayed with his mom. Diane's job was to keep all the other horses OUT of the trailer by shooing them away then took Lily's leadrope led her into the trailer, Mike picked up the colt and put him in. Those 2 were taken to the front and I shut the middle divider then walked around to the side door to let Mike and Diane out. Our next job was to load Sally. Mike went around the trailer to get her. I waded my way through the herd of horses all surrounding the trailer and got to the back to see a horse in the trailer. I thought it must be Sally and was wondering how Mike put her in without going in the trailer himself when I took a better look and realized it was Missy. She was determined to go with Lily and her colt. There was NO way she was going to be left behind and would not budge. We just can't leave a trailer door open and not expect to find horses inside. We decided she may as well come too. Mike put Sally in next to Missy. Below we are getting ready to leave. That is Blueberry with Mike.
Below Rosalie is staring at her mom and brother inside the trailer while Sangria watches Mike with Blueberry.
We made it home in good time.
Lily and her colt were unloaded from the side door and when Mike picked the colt up to help him out that door Missy started throwing a fit thinking she was not going to be unloaded.
Missy was unloaded next and put in the same paddock as Lily and her colt and all was well.
Sally was taken over to the cabin field with the golf cart so Mike could leave the trailer here. He wants to start training the 2 Thoroughbred mares for loading and unloading.
Below is Sally meeting Lea and Thalia. Lea had to show Sally that she is boss of this pasture.
I went back to give Lily's colt some attention.

He really is a cutie.

Lily was glad to drink out of the waterer instead of having to go down to the lake or over to the spring. She would prefer to be at Middle Grove but at least there are some benefits to living here for a while.
Mark was busy removing potholes on the drive while we were gone. We needed to move a round bale over to the cabin field now that there are 3 horses there.
I still needed to go over to the barn freezer to get 6 pounds of ground beef for the meal tomorrow and also brought back some steak to make fajitas for our dinner.
A long but very productive day.
