We could hear the rain splattering against the window during the night but no huge puddles when we awoke. It was a nice gentle rain. It had slowed down to a sprinkle around 6:20 am so Lily and her colt were let out in the paddock next to the stall barn and their stall cleaned. It was raining when we walked but just a light sprinkle. After the walk I drove to Aldi to pick up some groceries for potluck tomorrow. I drove straight to the barn to get some ground beef out of the freezer and while there set up another round table for the group coming in tomorrow. I have a little more to do there but will do that in the morning and that way I'll for sure remember to turn on the heat. Mark came with me on the next trip and that one was to Sam's club. Eggs at Aldi are almost $3.00 a dozen and are $2.00 a dozen at Sam's if you buy a box of 7.5 dozen. I needed a lot of eggs for baking so bought the box. By the time we got home the rain had started back up and was coming down pretty steady. Lily and her colt really needed to be brought back inside to dry off. The colt was glad to come in and lay down in the straw. Mark was working on the motorhome generator. He had a new spark plug to put in but couldn't get the old one out so came back to the house to watch some youtube videos on that. It seems everyone else has the same problem. We were both so wet and cold by the time we got back inside I turned the electric throw on high Diane gave me and sat down on the recliner, stretched out my feet and fell asleep. Karin had us for dinner tonight. She made a delicious pot roast using mom's recipe.

Rainy Day
After supper we came home, built a fire in the wood burner and am really enjoying the heat. I have Lily and her colt on the monitor. They seem to be settled in and are quiet. The rain is now over but the temperature is going to drop down to below freezing tonight so they will stay stalled until tomorrow morning. The owner of an Evan filly out of her chestnut mare sent the picture below. They named her Vodoo and also sent some videos of her. She is now at the trainers and doing well. So well they are going to be bringing back their mare again this year. We have actually retired from outside breeding but this one had been promised last year so we will honor that.
