Caroling Caroling In the Rain

Today was our Sunday School Christmas program. Always fun to see and hear the little ones. The young ones sing very loudly and not always on key. The middle classes sing softer but ususally we can pick out the tune but the Bible class and young group sing so beautiful we would like to sit and listen.. When they finish our ears are delighted and our minds say, "just one more!" Even though it is frowned upon to take a picture in a church, the phone was taken out and this picture taken discreetly. As Karin would say, "don't judge me!"
We had a couple hours home before heading back to church this evening for the all church Christmas Caroling. Just enough time to change into barn clothes, clean Winston's stall, feed, water and groom him up. It has been raining all day and is predicted to rain pretty much all night so Winston is locked in a stall to stay clean. He found a couple wet places to roll and somehow got a nice big green stain on one of his pretty white spots but is still much cleaner than if put out in a paddock. The ground is saturated and the pond overflow sounds like a huge water fall. The creeks around here are so full one could almost go white water rafting. We are all thankful this isn't SNOW! The weather is still mild, just very wet but mild. Back inside I had time to get my two dishes cooked and finished for tonight then back into church clothes and over to mom's to load her two dishes and of course her.
Since I can't sing I stayed at the church to help prepare the meal. The others split up into 3 groups and headed out to go Christmas caroling then everyone was to meet back at the church at 6:00 pm for dinner. Below are 3 of the cooks and helpers tonight. Not that they cooked all those goodies in the picture below, everyone brings food, drops it off before the caroling and we heat up what needs to be heated up, mix the salads right before the dinner starts, and cuts the desserts. We had an abundance of dessert! The lasagna and bread were done to perfection and were placed on the serving table just before the prayer.
One of the poinsettia's lost a branch and someone stuck it in Crystal's hair. She was laughing about it sticking straight up like an Indian feather.
No more pictures were taken tonight as we all got busy. By the time the line was through it was our turn to eat. What a nice day and fun evening.
