We made it home last night and the only thing that got done before heading to bed was to feed the horses and let the dogs out, then post on the website the pictures of the fillies taken on Thursday.
We had a funny start to the day yesterday. We were put up in a nice hotel for the Trane meeting and told a hot breakfast would be served starting at 8:30 am. Now who in their right mind starts serving breakfast then? The guests were a bunch of big burly men, contractors, kind of like farmers, that all get up early and enjoy big breakfasts of eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy with all the fixins. So at 8:30 am the guys were all anxious for breakfast. We walked in to see men milling around with no smiles on their faces, in fact not just no smiles, there were disgusted looks all around. We soon found out why. There were no chairs in the room. Mark and I thought we must have to fill our plate then move to a room with tables so we spent some time looking for that room before we realized one was expected to eat standing. The buffet line was very elegant with these pretty covered serving bowls, 2 of those, then after that some fresh fruit, bagels, and at the end of the line some cereal. The first pretty serving bowl was slid open to find these tiny little square pastries with a tiny and I mean really tiny dab of spinach or a tiny dab of egg on top. Most of the men would immediately slide that one shut and open the next one only to find the same thing! Who ever decided this very elegant breakfast was suitable for contractors were way off base. The grumbles were quite audible in the room. This is something a tea room would serve a bunch of high society ladies, not big burly contractors.
It was still worth our time to go, we learned Trane product innovations, new marketing strategies, warranty improvements and growth through marketing.
Below are a few pictures taken of the fillies on Thursday after they had been playing in a puddle.
The above 2 pictures of of Star's filly by Evan born March 4th, and the 2 pictures below are of Indy's filly by Evan born March 1st.
Hopefully I can get some pictures of all cleaned up soon. Today I'll be ordering more wedding food and picking up some of the items needed for Rhoda's wedding which is now in exactly 1 week.
