Retirement

We left for church at 7:45 am in the bitter cold and the roads were not yet plowed. The left lane was semi cleared so Mark drove all the way to Hanna City on the wrong side of the road.
We finished our Revelation Bible study this morning with a small group. The roads were just too bad for some of the people from the country to make it in that early. Johnny Hoerr and Duane Steidinger had the church parking lot cleared and looking good. There are huge piles of snow on the sides and back of the lot, more than I've ever seen before. Carly and Debbie served lunch so their family came to help. Peoria was blessed to have their oldest son Ryan on the pulpit both morning and afternoon. The morning sermon's theme was COME HOME. If you have drifted away please come home. Then in the afternoon service we heard about rpm's and mtw's.
RPM's stand for Reading the Word, Praying and Mediation then when we think about where are treasure is think of the mtw's. Look at your check book to see where your money goes, look at your schedule to see where you spend your time and what words come out of your mouth.
Are you laying up treasures in heaven or here on earth.
We ended the day at the fellowship hall for a retirement singing for Ken Hoerr. The evening was just beautiful. From the singing of the young people, the congregational singing out of the Tabernacles  to the praise songs accompanied with instruments.
We arrived home to find the puppies cared for and a hot fire in the wood burner but no one around. Even though it is suppose to drop below zero again we have a nice warm house. Thanks to who ever took care of things here.
