Jewel out Micah Home

As today is Berean day I left the house around 6:00 am to drive to Kroger to pick up fresh baked pecan sticky buns for our treat. Once back I took the golf cart up to check Titus and Jury. Both are doing well. I couldn't help but admire the beautiful green fields. The tractor is sitting in the field with just 3 tires, the 4th tire was picked up later today and put back on.

From there I left for our walk.
Diane and I walked the first round, then Ruth joined us. Ruth had good news to share. Little Micah is doing well and later this afternoon Rebekah took him home. Joan and her family drove to Morton for the garage sales. She found a set of 12 glasses for $2.00 so now I have glasses for potluck. I never did find those plastic blue ones I bought 2 years ago. Right after our walk Diane and Ruth came in to visit with mom then helped to get us on our way to the Berean office.  When I started the van I thought I saw it was almost full but once driving on Smithville Rd mom asked if we had enough gas, I looked down and the gas gauge was on empty. We stopped at the Casey's near Maxwell road to fill up and it took just over 20 gallons.
We were busy at Berean and glad for the work. Below are the pictures from today.
Above Bruce and Vonnie are wrapping Bibles. Below mom is stamping the return address on the envelopes while Shirley applies labels to the envelopes.

We all came into this room for our prayer at 9:30 am in the picture above and below Marvin is giving us an update.

Above Leila is reading letters, Bruce is running the postage machine, Shirley is helping mom with something and Marvin was talking to Vonnie. We help each other as we work.
Below is a short video of some of our work.
Mom and I left around 11:00 am and drove to the Hanna City post office to drop off the Bibles and studies going out today. I also took home 5 boxes of Bibles and all the supplies needed to stuff and wrap them. We have a girls retreat coming to the barn June 20th and 21st and they want to do a service project and are happy to wrap Bibles for us. After mom was dropped off all of those supplies were taken to the barn and just left on one of the tables. Tomorrow I'll get it all put in a closet. From there I went straight to the barn to see if the tractor tire was on, I needed to move two bales in today. Mark had picked up the tire and got it back on the tractor. I moved one bale in then when he arrived he helped move the second. Mark and Mackenson were working on repairing and replacing a gate in the back of the middle paddock.
Jewel was teased today and she is now out. Madiera was teased and she still said no. I must have missed her foal heat.  Since I had her out she was taken into a stall and a halter put on her colt. He didn't do too bad with that although today was the first time he was tied and he fought that for a while.

Rebekah posted the picture of Blair holding Micah once they got home from the hospital. Micah's siblings were so glad to have him home.

It IS DONE

Ruth was not able to walk today as she is taking care of Rebekah's children while Micah is in the hospital. The good news on him was he is now out of intensive care. Diane and Mike spent the night at Middle Grove so I asked Joan if she wanted to skip the walk. She came back with, "skipping sounds great and I hear it is good exercise too but I think I'll just stay home".  Yep, we never know what is going to come out of Joan's mouth sometimes.  Mark helped get the 2 horse trailer hooked up to the truck then followed as I led Titus into the trailer. That 2 year old stallion quietly followed me right in and stood nicely while tying him. Amazing how working with him just 3 times made such a difference. He traveled great to Hoerr vet clinic. That place was already packed with customers. There were 3 horse trailers already parked, one wiht a gorgeous palomino dam and foal getting checked out, another with a gray Arabian waiting in line and the 3rd was filled with goats and pigs. Dr. Hoerr came out with his ultrasound machine but it wasn't for a mare, he walked to a car that had a goat in it.

The person who had purchased the goat was told she might be pregnant but she was not.
Titus was unloaded and stood well watching everything. As soon as the hospital stall was ready he was put in that.
I left him there as my next trip was to head to Middle Grove to pick up Jury. Before getting into the truck I had to check out the trailer with the pigs and goats. The driver of that rig brought along 5 of her 7 children too.
Before they left the kids posed for a picture.
It is 25 miles to Hoerr vet clinic from our farm, but since I needed to go to Middle Grove it was a 50 mile trip. Mike and Diane were waiting when I arrived. I just took a few pictures before getting the halter and lead rope out for Jury as I for SURE didn't want to drop this phone.
Above in the front is Tessa and Valerie and behind them are Thalia and Lea. Below are Tatiana, Rosalie and Jury with Sangria standing behind Rosalie.
Sangria was led into the round pen, Jury followed her, Diane shut the gate, Jury was haltered and led to the trailer, loaded and it was time to head home. Below Rosalie and Tatiana are looking at Sangria in the round pen.
Check out Tessa's mane!  Tessa just turned 2 years old May 23rd, She is going to have a mane like Ylse.
The drive home seemed to go quickly. Jury was put in a stall with some grain while I made the paddock ready for her.
She is due in 5 weeks but looks just huge. The pictures below was once she was put in the paddock.

Mark had the tractor tire off so once Jury was fine I took the golf cart into the hayfield to get that tire. I was able to roll it up onto the golf cart then took it down to the car and rolled it into the back of the Prius.
I took that down to East Peoria Tire and dropped it off giving Jesse Mark's phone number. Dr. Hoerr called as I was taking that to tell me Titus was now a gelding and ready to be picked up. Since I had to drive back to Hanna City to get the truck and trailer I explained it would be about an hour before I could get there. Titus was ready and waiting when I finally arrived. I could hear him neighing when I arrived. He walked well into the trailer but by the time we got home I think some of the numbing drugs were wearing off as he very gingerly stepped off of the trailer. He was put in the paddock and went right over to greet Jury.
On Saturday I had finished the 1st book in the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers and was kind of horrified in the ending. I wasn't sure if I wanted to read the second book as Saturday night I couldn't sleep after finishing that book. The world and now even the United States is starting to look a lot like Rome. Well this afternoon after driving almost 200 miles I picked up the 2nd book in the series. Mark is going to read the first book so I can't say anymore but I just finished the second and both should be read. I can't wait to read the 3rd. What I didn't do was pick up a dessert for Bereans tomorrow. I'll have to get up early and drive in to Kroger. I don't like to bake.
Lily's colt sold this evening and 2 bookings came in for the apartment and 1 for the barn today. Mark had Mackenson setting fence posts and Berlica mowing today.

Chelise

Hannah and Jacob sent out the announcement of the birth of their precious baby girl: Rejoicing in the safe arrival of our rainbow baby, Chelise Hope, on June 8th at 11:57pm. We are so thankful for this beautiful little gift! 6lbs 13oz and 20 in.

She is Joan's 7th grand child and another of the many of mom's great grandchildren. We all rejoice with Hannah and Jacob, this little one is so loved. Joan went up to the hospital after church yesterday. She was glad to report Hannah and Chelise are doing well. We sure wish God's blessings on this new little one.

May Birthdays

We had a beautiful Sunday from the beginning all the way until bedtime. We picked up Rhonda first then Braelyn for church. Tim Funk had the morning message on Psalm 139 Click HERE to watch that. David had the afternoon message on Luke 5 click HERE to watch that. We stopped at Dollar General on the way home to buy black balloons as today we were going to celebrate Lee's 40th birthday, Jack and Israel's 13th birthday and Jace's 11th birthday.  As soon as I changed Aichen was teased and she is now out, Jewel was teased and still in so was covered by Evan. The people staying in the apartment were using the barn for a birthday party for their son and were supposed to be done by 4:00 pm but ended up being a little late. That didn't bother us, Mark started grilling the hamburgers and hotdogs at 4:00 pm and I brought over the other food around 4:15 pm. They were busy cleaning up while we were cooking and it worked well.  Below are a few pictures.

After dinner and after the party we all made our way to the playground.

Sarah and Nolan's family were the first to head home. Below are 3 tired and a little cranky girls getting into their van.
Ron and Mark were the oldest there.
The playground was well used.

Below is a video of the fun.
Taegan's team won their tournament today.

I was just getting ready to drive the golf cart home when Dancer and Blueberry came running over to visit Evan with Mike, Irelyn and Crew following on the 4 wheeler. Mike had opened the gate and those two slipped through as he was bringing Mika out. They were haltered and led back.
Peoria starts VBS tomorrow, Bluffton is already having their VBS and have over 500 children attending. Jamie posted the video below of that.

Fun Filled Saturday

It was hard to wake up this morning but when I did I was pleased to see we were getting some rain now that all the hay is safe in the barn. The check was written out to Bryan for the mowing, raking and bailing and mailed this morning. It is a good feeling to have a barn full of paid for hay.  I was due at mom's by 9:30 and was surprised to see them still eating breakfast. After mom finished her hair was brushed. Her hair is much thicker than it used to be and goes up easy.

The orange halves for the Baltimore Orioles was empty of grape jelly and full of ants. I had ant spray on my golf cart so sprayed down the banister and around then got a new orange out.
As soon as Karin came home I left to go make a late lunch for Mark. Sarah and Nolan arrived right after that to take their girls riding on Cookie. We had a lot of fun this afternoon.

We started in the round pen then moved to the outdoor arena and then finished with a fun trail ride around the fields over to Joan's,  to the playground and finally home. The girls were feeding the horses grass when Lily's colt came up for some and each picked grass to feed him, even River. That colt is so tall he can reach over the gate to get the treat.

Next came the fishing. Nolan's first cast out caught a huge bass that jumped way out of the water twice as he was fighting to bring it in. I didn't have the phone with me so no pictures or video of that. The girls had fun  pulling in big and little bluegills.

Below is a video of them riding Cookie, feeding Lily's colt and fishing.
I needed to leave about then to help Mark with the fence between Evan's pasture and the mare pasture. We had one wire down. Evan was watching as Mark worked on that.
Evan got bored and decided to roll.
I bought some books on Ebay, the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers and started on book one last night. It is good and I really want to finish it so will probably stay up late to do that.
