Rainy Monday

It wasn't raining during the walk but started up shortly after and continued off and on all day. During one of the breaks Indy and Soul were brought over from the cabin field and put in the pasture next to Valiant's paddock. Below Indy's filly is showing us what she thinks of this wet day:
Both mares should be coming into their foal heat and this is an easy way to tease. Valiant was thrilled they were close.
Indy was the most interested but she is not yet ready to be covered. She would need to be covered by Evan.
Soul was not yet in. Her filly has amazing movement for just a week old.
She is going to be a superstar in the dressage world.
The next job was to head to Big R in Pekin to pick up 700 pounds of grain. Aldi is right next door so of course groceries were picked up too. Once back the grain was unloaded in the rain, the mares were checked in the rain, the dogs were let out in the rain.  You get the picture, it just kept coming down. Lily, Ayanna and Star with their foals have been moved to the cabin field now that these three mares are are out. We will get an ultrasound scheduled for them in a couple weeks. Lola and Zalena will need to be teased tomorrow morning and covered if they are in. Mara will need to be teased too, it was just too wet this afternoon to take her over to Evan. Eliza didn't care about the rain, she was happy in the pond pasture with Sheena.
Jenni, Will and their 2 children arrived during the rain to see Mara. Mara was a foal they raised before selling her to Rachael and they wanted to see how she turned out.

Even though it was pouring they re-connected with her. Ralph and Jamie arrived too to see Joanna. This goose was walking around the driveway this evening. I'm not sure why he is hanging around up here by the barns but he flew off when I got a little close with the camera.

Today was a cool, gloomy, gray, wet day but at least the grass is growing.
