One would think by the chilly air and looking at the trees that it was fall instead of spring. Mark decided it was a perfect time to burn. The railroad ties were started as was the pile in Valiant's paddock.
Ella got to ride Missy today. The horses were really up with this cold windy weather but Ella did just fine controlling Missy.
Diane and I drove in to Bartonville for some groceries and stopped at a garage sale on the way home. We couldn't believe how much stuff we both bought.
Laurie, the lady that owns Jurista, the Andalusian mare, sent the picture below.
Jurista had a big black filly this morning. The sire of this filly is Valiant. Laurie is well pleased. What a gorgeous tall foal.
Ralph and Jamie stopped by this evening to work with Joanna. Joanna is 6 weeks old now and just huge. For reference, Ralph is 6 ft 4 in tall.
Joanna had fun this evening. This was the first time she wore a halter outside and was shaking her head around. Check out how far off the ground this filly is when she trots.
She got a haltering lesson, leading lesson and lots of handling.
Mark was working on the new wood burner this evening. It has a problem with the igniter but what a perfect night to have a fire going. This room is toasty warm even though it is cold outside. The thermometer is going to drop down into the 30s tonight with a frost warning. Glad we didn't get our tomato plants planted yet. There are good things that happen sometimes with a procrastinator.
