Opryland Hotel

We had a good first day, Mark went to classes and I slept, then read, then slept some more. Finally around 11:00 am I decided to walk around touring the hotel but needed to meet Mark at noon and an hour wasn't near enough. After lunch we toured together. Below are a few pictures of this amazing place.

This evening the Trane company took the entire group to Wild Horse Saloon in downtown Nashville. They needed 20 buses to get us all down there. We were in one of the later buses and by the time we got to the Saloon, even though it was closed for this party only there was no where to sit. The food was buffet style so we were able to fix a plate but it was kind of hard to figure out how to hold the food and somehow get it to one's mouth. We hiked up to the 3rd floor and walked back behind the stage, found a couple of chairs and were able to eat.
The Wild Horse Saloon has a herd of life sized horses hanging upside down from the ceiling. I only had my phone but snapped a picture. Three floors below the band was playing and the crowd was line dancing.
The noise was hard on the ear drums, we finished our meal then decided to go walk around the city until catching a bus back to the hotel. The Saloon was very close to the famous batman building.
But even outside it was noisy, Nashville is just such a noisy place.
We were glad to give our eardrums a rest by climbing aboard the bus. We were pretty tired so went straight to bed. This morning the breakfast wasn't quite as well attended. I think they may have been too much carousing by all the guests. Tonight they are serving dinner on the island in the middle of the Delta canopy.
