Shopping

We had a cool morning and the weather report was for a cool day. It was time to have Marika and her filly meet Ayanna and Violet. They were brought out of the stall and let loose in the big field. Ayanna was curious, Marika was protective but after a few minutes they all settled down.
Above is Marika's 3 day old filly by Evan and below is her 3 week old half sister Velvet, also by Evan.
What a difference 3 weeks make.
Right after the walk the truck and trailer were taken down to Meister's for Andrew. He figured out a couple designs then let me pick which one I liked best for the trailer. I chose Option A below.
The best part about having Andrew do this is that it will be done by Friday morning. When I got back to the farm Rhoda and I drove to Pekin to buy 2 more saddles. I mentioned to Rhoda we may need them as we probably have 20 riding horses when she replied, "we probably have 20 saddles!" These were synthetic, one was a Big Horn and the other a Simco, both good brands. We stopped at Big R's on the way back to pick up 3 more bags of shredded beat pulp. As soon as we got home Rhoda, Emily, Hannah and Karin cleaned up the saddles then tried them out on the horses taking an extreme trail ride with Anna, Jenis, Ribbon and Bonnie. After the ride Emily worked with Bonnie more in the outdoor arena. Karin hosted Vaulting practice and Emily told us later it went very well. They are performing a couple times in August.
Sarah and I went grocery shopping stopping first at Aldi and running into Ruth and Rebekah filling their carts for the weekend. We beat them to the checkout then  headed to Sam's Club where we spent another $200.00 plus on groceries for our weekend.
Tim Reinhard drove to church tonight in his van taking mom, Hannah, Emily, Mark and I. Sarah didn't make it home from work in time to go. Mike Rieker had the service.
