Rest, Sweet Rest

After yesterday's chaos I was so thankful to awake and realize it is Sunday, our day of rest sweet rest. No work was done today except feeding the horses, cleaning stalls, making breakfast for our guests, and teasing 4 mares. Jenis is now out and Emma hasn't come back in yet today is day 21 for her. Neither Ayanna nor Marika are showing signs of coming in. Marika should be showing soon with her foal heat. Lola is quite bagged up and stalled again tonight. New buckets were placed in the middle paddock so Emma and Jenis could be grained easier. We had a full car going to church today, Ruth kept Nancy for the weekend but dropped her off at mom's for church as she and Fede volunteer at the Lewiston Jail on Sundays. Dave Obergfel had the morning service. He stressed the importance of the Word, The Bible should be our ultimate authority, not man's interpretation. Do we place more importance on someone's belief or the Bible. Tim Roecker had the afternoon service. After church we went straight to the funeral home for John Grassi's visitation. Everyone from church had the same idea and the line was long. The funeral directors were able to seat a lot of the people and the line moved steadily. We are so sorry for Cheryl, Jason, Janell and Clayton's loss. Tim and Hannah needed a ride home from the visitation but when we all got in the car it wouldn't start. Tim brought his van over for a jump but it turned out the battery cables were corroded.
Once we got home Mark jacked up the horse trailer so the tire could come off and the fender bent back in place. It is almost as good as new. (until the next time I hit a tree)
A neat picture came in today from the owners of a 7 year old Raven son. They write:
Here's our Raven at Western Hearts Ranch (sire: Raven Senior... dam: Jasmine/American Saddlebred) He's 7 years old now and is a wonderful horse! His temperament is perfect and he's such a sweet animal! We love him so much. Thank you, Raven Senior!
The picture below happens to be a picture of a 7 year old Raven daughter. Both owners of these half siblings say they are HUGE, Liberty pictured below is out of walker Sally by Raven and 16.2 hands and her half brother above is that tall or taller. Raven sure did throw his height and wonderful disposition.
This evening the volley ball players were playing over at the playground but decided I would rather read than go over.
