She Said No

After the walk Ayanna was teased, yesterday she was starting to show signs either that or just going out but today she would have nothing to do with Killian. Violet is 11 days old so if Ayanna did come into her foal heat it was a very short heat.
Mom took Molly with her today to church for quilting. We were teasing mom about getting one of those dog purses. Molly is truly a perfect dog for mom. She jumped up on her lap, stood up and snuggled her head up against mom's neck then turned and looked into her eyes. Yes our hearts just melted.
Diane Moore sent a picture today of Monet's Evan filly born May 11th, she writes: "check out that neck, she is so friendly!"

We love hearing how sweet and friendly the foals turn out. Raven's offspring all had wonderful dispositions and it is great to hear that hasn't stopped with his death.
We have started weaning Lily's colt. He is leaving the farm for his new home in 1 week. Today Lily was put in the stall next to him, Lily was fine with it, she could look over the wall and see him, he wasn't as happy.
It was so hot that both Lily and Ayanna were hosed off then put in the air conditioned barn with their foals.
Violet loves coming into the cool barn she flops down for a nap while Ayanna goes for the hay.
So in the stalls today I had Lily, her daughter Ayanna, her son Zulu and her grand daughter Violet. We were keeping it all in the family.
Tomorrow morning Holly needs to be taken back to the vet to get another coggins drawn. Her last one was drawn August 22nd, 2013 and is good for 12 months in any state except Wisconsin and wouldn't you know it the lady that is buying her is from Wisconsin. Wisconsin's rule is that it must be within that calendar year. Bummer I just had her there for the sonagram 2 days ago.
Emily went with Mike to Middle Grove tonight to work on fencing. She made it home right before the storm hit. Most of the lighting and thunder is now gone and we are just getting rain.
