Sit Killian Sit

After Emily got home from school she pulled Killian out for a trail ride by himself. He didn't care for the mud on the trails and didn't want to cross the creeks without a horse to follow but together they made it back.  Below they are coming up from the death trail path.
I asked her if she would do a little canter work in the field for a few pictures as the fall colors won't last much longer with this cold weather.

The sun is low in the afternoon sky lighting their way back to the barn.
Next was trick training time for Killian. He is learning to walk into the box with a rider, stand quietly then walk out of the box.

We are so proud of him, he takes everything in stride. We give him time to figure out how then he does what we ask. Emily finished up with asking him to bow and lay down which he is doing well by Emily picking up his leg and asking him to lay down.

Emily is now starting to ask him to sit before getting up. Today she showed me how he is getting this trick.
This is one of the harder tricks to teach and we are so pleased that he is getting the idea.  Anna has been moved out of Valiant's paddock. She came back in season yesterday. We need to know the day she is out so we have a better idea of her cycle. Mike fixed 3 of our automatic waterers which were leaking and got the flat tire off the golf cart. Hopefully Butch can fix it tomorrow. Our car is now fixed and can be picked  up tomorrow.
