Spoon River Drive Day 1

I spent time last night looking for the health department food permit from Fulton County. Mark was pretty sure he placed it on the desk right before we left for vacation but with both of us looking it just couldn't be found. We decided it must have been left at work in Peoria so Mark drove in to the shop and called with the bad news it wasn't to be found. I decided to go anyway and start selling popcorn and cotton candy and if they wanted to shut us down I'd quit. Sarah came to relieve me around 1:30pm so I could drive to Sam's club and buy a few groceries for the house another 50 pound bag of popcorn and 2 gallons of popcorn oil. I was shocked at the price of the popcorn. The same bag I spent $11.00 on a few years back is now $32.00! By the time I got back to the Old School Center the health department lady had already been there and left. Even though we had a working bathroom within 10 feet of our booth, it wasn't good enough. She wanted 3 buckets, a pitcher of water, bleach (and it had to be unscented), soap and paper towels. Danny provided us with 3 ice-cream buckets, pitcher and the bleach. The rest we had. Only then did she hand over the permit. The one we spent all that time looking for. It was good to know we hadn't lost it.
We had a steady stream of customers coming through the building even with rain. We didn't haul out the ponies today as rain was predicted all day. We will bring them tomorrow. Karin took the truck and trailer and is spending the night at Jackie's house so we can get an early start in the morning with pony rides. I had quite a few people come find me today and ask if the ponies would be there.
Kari and Brett's wedding was held today at the Herman lake in the sky at Norris, IL. It was suppose to be an outdoor wedding but everything was moved inside last night. Karin came from the wedding to help out selling and reported it was the least painful wedding she had ever been to. In other words, it was a really nice wedding. We wish God's blessings on Kari and Brett's life together.
We closed up at 5:00pm and the rain was just starting back up. There are no pictures today of the Old School Center, pictures are not allowed inside, I think the vendors are afraid someone will steal their idea. All the vendors at the Old School Center sell only home made items.
Rachel was the photographer at Kari's wedding and just maybe she will share a few that can be placed here since I didn't get to go.
When I pulled up exhausted from the long day of selling Emma came running up to the car smelling. She stunk like something awful, must have found something dead and rolled in it. She had to get shampooed before coming inside.
