I was up at 3:30 am to get everything done, packed and ready for our trip. Jacyln is staying with the dogs and is taking care of stalled Marika and teasing mares.
We pulled out around 8:30 am and hit heavy traffic around Chicago but I guess that is normal. Mark and I were the first to arrive at the lake house pulling up after 2:30 pm. We were disappointed to find we don't have internet here and even more disappointed to find the wakeboard was still in Phil and Anna's barn. If anyone wants to come tomorrow to bring the wakeboard we will give them a delicous prime rib dinner and a couch to sleep on AND lots of great company AND we have enough food to feed you for 5 or 6 days. If no one takes us up on this fantastic offer hopefully we can find a wake board in the area to purchase. Most of the kids drove to Indiana Dunes and spent the day at Lake Michigan before finishing the trip here. Everyone arrived in time for dinner.
We had a family of swans come to the beach right next door. The parents and 4 cignets spent a lot of time preening in front of the grandchildren then as soon as they left the kids had fun collecting feathers.
To see a few pictures of the evening (the first the camera was taken out) click HERE. It is after 10:00 pm here and we are heading to bed. Thankful we all made it safely.
