Today was a blustery cold damp day. We had just over an inch of rain yesterday and last night. The rain stopped late morning but the clouds kept the sun away all day and the gusting wind kept the day down right cold. Our high of the day came at midnight then the thermometer just kept on dropping. We are to be in the 30 by the time morning arrives, snow is predicted just north of us. AND this is only Oct 3rd. It looks like we may be expecting another cold long winter.
Karin and I are suppose to haul 9 horses tomorrow for pony rides and trail rides to Canton, IL, the Goose Ranch is hosting a picnic. I'm going to have to find last years winter jacket. There is no electricity where we would be setting up and really no where to make a fire. Brrr, just thinking about it makes me shiver. We would have been setting up for the Spoon River Drive at the Old School Center today if it hadn't burned down. Dan always had a fire going for us and of course we could slip inside the school to warm up if needed. Man do we miss that place.
