Fair Friday at the IL Horse Fair

The weather was beautiful and the crowds were out at the IL Horse Fair today. There were a few problems but alls well ends well.
The 3 pictures below are of our beautifully decorated 10 stalls.

Amy was busy making the popcorn while I was on the cotton candy duty. We had a pretty good scare today. A lady came to tell us that Rhoda had been kicked by Evan. She has a pretty good welt on her arm. He wasn't being mean, she had just started him in the round pen when Lissa Calhoun came over to talk to her she let him go, turned around and he realized he was free and went off bucking and hit her arm by accident. There was so much force when his hoof hit her arm that hit her chest and knocked the wind out of her. She will have a pretty good sized bruise on her arm but she was able to still perform. Below she is warming him up after the kick.
The vaulters were getting ready for their first practice as she was warming him up. A few of the vaulting pictures are below the rest are on the Horsemeister Inc Facebook page.

All of the performances were video taped but won't be uploaded until we arrive home on Monday. The Friesians were on first and the big black box we worked so hard on got locked into a hall way and no one could be found to unlock the door. The fair officials promised to have it for tomorrow's performance but the Friesians were still very entertaining even without the box. The vaulters entered the arena and the announcer couldn't find the right music. Karin was able to yell at the announcer and I think it took 4 tries before the correct music was found. The vaulters did great but the music ended up starting over a couple of times. Then came Rhoda on Evan for the stallion parade. The crowd went wild when Mitchel rolled in the pedestal.  Rhoda and Evan performed almost perfect but again the music stopped about a minute into her performance and started over again. The picture below is of Rhoda and Sarah as they were coming back from the performance. Sarah was rolling the pedestal back while Rhoda was leading Evan.
Not that I'm at all prejudiced but I really felt like we had the 3 most entertaining of all the shows and of course the most beautifully decorated stalls. So if you want to come on down to the fair it isn't too late. Saturday and Sunday shows should be even better than today and the popcorn and cotton candy are great too.
