The motorhome was picked up for its long trip out West. The renter's daughter had just graduated Vet Tech school and was excited to see the horses here. She learned how to ultrasound mares at school. I'm thankful for Dr. Hoerr who is an expert at that. I went over early to feed Sheena and her filly as Mike and Diane spent the night at Middle Grove.
Matt and Anni arrived with Dexter and Harvey.
They were here to start laying tile in the barn upstairs. Mark was busy trimming bushes on the side of the drive. Joan left to take mom out to Middle Grove. I left to pick up Nancy in Morton then take her out to Middle Grove. We arrived around 10:00 am. The breeze on the hillside was perfect to keep us comfortable while we watched the kids swimming. Spark and Rhonda arrived with their side by side machine and took Nancy and I on a tour to find the herd of horses.
Lily is pictured below, she looks great for her age. She is 22 years old this year. She was retired from breeding last year and had an amazing 19 foals for us.
Nancy enjoyed seeing the horses but was a little scared at some of the big hills that machine needed to climb. Sarah was the hero today picking up pizza from Caseys in Farmington and bringing it out for our lunch.
After lunch about half of us went on a pontoon boat ride. Nancy had the best time of all. Sarah caught a nice bass right off the boat while the boat was still docked.
Mom wanted to see the fish and declared it big enough to eat tonight so that fish was saved.
The fishing wasn't too good on the boat ride but later between Joan, Sarah, Fedi and Brian they caught enough for dinner. After the boat ride it was time to go swimming. That water felt great!
A bit later Joan took Nancy for a paddle board ride.
After everyone was done swimming, mom and Nancy back up at the campsite I left for home. I still had to tease Valerie and when she showed got her covered by Evan.
Bulu and her colt were checked on. That colt was enjoying a scratch on his bottom using the gate.
Rhoda and Lee arrived with Iris and Zeke. They went swimming at mom's then the kids stayed with us while they went to the Warehouse for dinner. Rhoda brought back more than half of her meal for Mark and I to share. We all went over to the lake to watch fireworks. It started raining so we were crowded under mom's deck watching.
After getting back to the house I worked for about 30 minutes before giving up and heading to bed, finishing this Sunday morning. Below is Nancy's video of some of her day. She had the best time today and was so excited that she was spending the night with Joan.
