Early Guests

I didn't sleep well last night and could hardly force myself out of bed, but duty called. After downing only one cup of coffee both mops were loaded onto the golf cart and I went flying over to start cleaning up any drywall dust that got spread on the game room floor yesterday. That went well, each time that floor is scrubbed the easier it is. Thankfully the family members that stayed later at the barn put all the sports equipment away. Mark came over and swept the gym floor while I finished the bathrooms. I took a break at 7:30 to walk with Ruth, Diane, Joan and Bethany. We moved the horses out while on the walk. It was nice to have so much help.  I quit the walk early as the guests coming in today asked for a 9:00 am check in. I was just asking Mark to move the lift when he mentioned they were already here. They showed up 20 minutes early. I was able to show them where the supplies were and explained that I still needed to move the lift when one of the guys offered to move it for me. He was also the bus driver for the church bus. The guests today are from New Castle Bible Church. I was actually thankful to be able to quit early, go home and make breakfast. After breaking my fast I went out to start cleaning stalls. Sheena's was pretty bad as she has been in for 2 days and nights. It wasn't that her stall wasn't cleaned during those times but between she and her filly they are drinking lots of water and of course what goes in much come out. The hay bale I was using to pull hay off for their stalls was finished this morning so a new bale was flipped and this one will be easy to get the hay off. I was easily able to fill 3 wheel barrows of hay in just a few minutes.

Once all the water buckets had been cleaned and filled Sheena and her filly were brought in from the outdoor arena where we put her this morning. She is still very lame and her leg is still swollen. I had my phone in my pocket on AC central listening to Jeff Waibel talk about John the Baptist in Leo all the while working and that sermon ended just as I finished in the barn. Jeff really does a great job explaining things and keeping everyone's attention. If you would like to watch this message click HERE
Once back in the house the laundry was started and the kitchen cleaned up. For supper tonight I made a spinach, pepper, onion, mushroom, sausage and cheese omelet served with an avocado and an egg roll.
Ruth and Joan were with mom today. Ruth is staying with her during VBS as she is also watching Matt and Anni's boys. Diane went at 8:00 pm to help Ruth. I mixed up a crumb cake, got that baking in the oven then went out to get another load of hay for Sheena and give her another antibiotic shot. Titus and Aiken were called in and put in their stalls. Aiken does not seem any closer to giving birth. The crumb cake is now done,
and we have just sat down to watch season 5 episode 1 of The Chosen.
