Wonderful Sunday

Mom wanted to get out of bed at 6:30 am as she was anxious to look outside. Joan sent a picture of mom getting her hair brushed while looking out at the Gulf of Mexico this morning.

Diane came over to help while Joan went to Walmart to pick up groceries for breakfast. They made it in last night about 10:30 pm so Joan was hoping to sleep in. We were all happy for the update. The chuck roasts were taken out and put in the crock pots early this morning as they were still a little frozen. Two boxes of brownies were mixed and poured into the larger baking pan and stuck in the oven at 350 for an hour. About then the rain gauge was checked. We got a solid inch last night.
The beef ribs were taken out of the fridge, each package was braised then wrapped well in aluminum and by the time the brownies were done and taken out the oven was dropped to 250 degrees and the ribs put in. Below is the brownie pan once chocolate chips were put on to melt.
Below the ribs are ready for the oven.
Then it was time to make breakfast and after breakfast get ready for church. Molly brought Nancy today and told me that she would also be coming tonight and would take her home. Rhoda was sent a text to let her know so they could drive their small car here this afternoon. Gregg Rumbold had the morning message. Gregg has an Instagram cooking show called from Engine to Table. Diane showed it to us and we had to laugh while watching it. He also has a message with each show and really does use his big diesel truck engine to cook his lunches while driving. Check it out by clicking HERE. He had us chuckling this morning but the message was relevant about feeling intimidated reading from 1 Samuel 17 and then Colossians 2. Click HERE to watch that. Carol and Ron gave lunch today and had the lunchroom decorated and served make your own tacos.
Nancy loved it. Caleb Plattner had the afternoon message on Zechariah 2 and 3. Click HERE to watch that.  After the service he brought Samuel and introduced him to Mark. Samuel needed help with his furnace. Mark made arrangements to go later today to look at it. Joan had someone coming to pick up the last kitten around 2:00 pm and asked me to meet them. Nancy and I took the golf cart over but they didn't arrive until 2:40 pm. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the sunshine while waiting.

Nancy was telling me about the big fish she caught with Joan last week.
We gave them the kitten then started hauling food over to the barn. The ribs turned out perfectly, the pot roast, carrots and potatoes were also done and tasty. We had a big group for supper tonight and I didn't think to take any pictures except the fruit bowl.
Spark and Rhonda made it back from Arizona and joined us along with Tarah and Jay's family and some of Molly's family.  Mike joined us as Diane is gone. Ben and Taunya's family arrived. Rhoda and Lee brought their children and Sarah and Nolan's as those 2 were going to be late. David and Stephanie's family were a little late as they spent the day in Roanoke. David had the morning message there. I haven't watched it yet but will tomorrow. If you would like to watch that message click HERE
After supper we all made our way outside. Rebekah and Brian built a campfire since the evening was pretty chilly. Most of us gathered around to visit.

When I left there was still a group out enjoying the fire. It really was a wonderful Sunday.
