Ralph and Jamie's Reception

Joan wanted to leave around 8:00 am this morning to get the shop cleaned well before they go to Gulf Shores so I made sure I was there before she needed to leave. Mom was eating breakfast and when she finished wanted the mama cat to lick her plate. I took it out to the garage and called and not only did the mama cat come running so did 4 of the 5 kittens.

Just the little black one decided not to come.
At 10:00 am I was supposed to be at the barn getting the food ready for the big party. Sarah and the girls arrived to take my place at mom's when Diane pulled up so instead Sarah took the girls horse back riding. Diane was going to stay with mom but Joan called right then to say she was on her way home. The food prep went well. Jamie's sister and sister in law were wonderful helpers. We almost had everything done by 1:00 pm but some of the guests arrived a little early so we were quick doing clean up. The table was made ready and then I ran home to change into clean clothes.  We made 48 chicken salad sandwiches, 60 roast beef and cheese wraps, 60 ham and cheese wraps and 60 chicken and cheese wraps. We ran out of chicken salad so I made another 20 of those. We also ran out of ham and cheese wraps and made another 20 of those during the afternoon.   Below are pictures of the afternoon.

The picture below was taken about 3:00 pm. We still had 2 hours to go and I was getting a little worried we would run out of sandwiches and chicken salad.
We ended up with plenty. We didn't have a lot of children but a lot of them enjoyed the upstairs game room and some of them enjoyed the bouncy house.
At 6:00 pm the formal dinner was served to Jamie and Ralph's family and a few friends. Jamie's brother-in-law grilled the steaks and hamburgers. I served bbq ribs, sautéed veggies, salad, rolls, sweet potatoes and baked potatoes. Of course they had cake for dessert. The food and dishes are now all cleaned up and put away. I'm back home and will have an early night.
