I was over at the barn working early this morning around 6:30. The people renting the barn today wanted to move in at 10:00 am. We had no walk so I was able to get a 3 hours of cleaning in. Ruth is up salmon fishing in Michigan and Diane is at the Ark Encounter. Ruth sent the picture below of Fedi and Jozsef making salmon bait with fish eggs.
Diane sent the picture below while adding the text, "This made me thankful Mike only wanted to build a solar boat!"
When Joan saw the picture she sent the text, "just think what Noah's wife had to put up with." Of course Rachel had to chime in with, "Mike would definitely sneak in more than two horses."
The texts just kept coming. I was able to finish most of the laundry from the barn and get the beds made by 10:00 am but the towels were taken to the house to dry. The people renting the barn were pretty thrilled. This is a repeat guest.
I left then for the Peoria post office and got stuck in a very long line. They only had 1 person working the counter and the line was going very slowly. Finally a lady from another section asked, "is anyone here NOT mailing something?" that was me, I immediately said, "I'm just here to pick up the mail." She was glad to go get that and I only ended up waiting there for 20 minutes. From there I went to Sam's and picked up a key lime pie for the Berean volunteers and some of the supplies needed this weekend for the anniversary party at the barn. After dropping off the mail and the pie at Bereans I went to Kroger. I was looking for a specific kind of tea that was requested for Saturday but they didn't have it. I found the juice needed for the the raspberry water that will be served on Saturday. When I got back the brand new garage doors had been installed. We have launched ourselves into the 20th century. We now have these garage doors that come with remotes and can be opened with a touch of the remote. Well IT WILL do that once we get electricity out there. To make them work Mark brought out an extension cord just for the video.
Sadly this isn't for my car, Mark is still hoping to get a Tessla and my poor 2007 Prius will be kicked out into the weather when that happens. Today was truly laundry day. I had both the barn machines going until 9:30 am and my machines here at the house going most of the day. I'm SO thankful for such an easy way to get laundry clean. This evening we watched Shirley Kieser's funeral in Princeville. Shirley is mom's second cousin and is also Stephanie's grandmother. Mom said when she was a child they came to Peoria in the summer time, her mom would take them to visit the cousins. Mom loved going to the Streitmatter farm when she was a child and playing with Shirley in the barn.
