Climbing Stairs

We were both up early this morning giving me plenty of time to get the dishes done before our walk.. That's what comes when one goes to bed at 8:30 pm. We didn't plan on walking as it is Friday but we all met over at mom's. The ornamental grass was waving gently in the breeze as I walked up onto her deck.

Joan was getting ready to go to Co-op with the cotton candy machine. Berlica showed us her project, this is an edible cell, will all the parts of the cell identified.

Berlica went out to put it in the car and came back with a walking stick.
Those insects are fascinating. It is amazing how they can blend right into the trees and shrubs. Almost like some Creator decided to be creative. He really IS and His creation declares HIS glory! After breakfast I worked on setting the barn up for the big celebration tomorrow. Jamie and Ralph were coming a bit later in the day to decorate it. Mark helped bring in about 70 chairs. We put 3 tables in the gym for overflow just in case everyone decides to come all at once. I stopped when Mark was willing to cut tiles in half for the bunk beds. We are using the left over floor tile in place of plywood. These tiles are soft and fit over the metal slats perfectly. Each bunk needed 4 fulls and 4 halves. We ran out of the upstairs tiles but thankfully there were 3 full boxes of the downstairs tiles in the laundry closet. Those are now in my car and will be unloaded into Mark's workshop on a shelf just in case we ever need to replace any downstairs. Once those were in place Mark wanted to anchor each bunk bed to the wall before I put any mattresses in them. He tried using a magnet to find the studs but that didn't work and ended up borrowing a stud finder from Philip. That worked perfectly and everything he screwed in hit. He returned the stud finder before coming back to the house. I started hauling mattresses over and was able to finish the bunk room.

That room now sleeps 10 people. It is hard to get it in the pictures so I made a short video.

I started on one of the other rooms but quit when Ralph and Jamie arrived with their guests. I think they were pleased with all my work in the living area and know they are pleased with the barn. I have 6 more mattresses to cover and install but won't get the chance to finish that job until Sunday after church. I'm glad, hauling those mattresses up 20 stairs each time is giving me more exercise that I wanted.
