Inside Working Weather

We went to bed  early yesterday and slept over 9 hours. We both must have needed the sleep. Today was laundry day and a good day to work inside. It wasn't very nice outside, cloudy, cold and every once in a while those clouds would spit at us. After getting the laundry started I started on the food for tomorrow's dinner making the finger jello first as I don't have enough 9 x 13 pans for everything needed today. The two colors of  jello were set in the fridge for a few hours while I worked on other parts of the house. Once that was set they were put in a bowl and the pans washed for the next dish.

The green wasn't quite set so some of the squares didn't hold together but they taste good. I waited an extra half hour for the red which turned out perfect. Next the big pan was used to mix up the meat loaf balls. I used 8 pounds of ground beef, 8 eggs, 3 cups of milk, 4 cups of quick oats, 8 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, 4 cups of chopped onions. I used kitchen gloves to mix it together until it was mixed well. That was formed into balls 54 of them, covered with sauce that was made from ketchup, brown sugar and mustard and baked it at 350 degrees for an hour and 15 minutes. I needed to leave then to pick up the 10 quarts of potato soup from the Skylines auction at the fellowship hall so asked Mark to turn off the oven when the timer went off but leave the meat loaf in the oven. I not only picked up 10 quarts of soup. I also came home with a birthday cake as tomorrow we are celebrating Taegan's birthday. That just needed to have her name put on.
As soon as I got home the meat loaf was taken out of the oven. By this time it was supper time so we shared one for our dinner. They are good.
David sent the pictures below. Today Elisabet and Israel did a great job carving jack-o-lanterns.

I just finished starting the dishwasher for the 3rd time today. Cooking sure makes a lot of dishes. It is good to have a day to catch up on laundry.
