It was hard to get up this morning. I'm thankful for good strong coffee to get these muscles and brain moving. We all were back for our walk this morning and the chatter was non stop. There really is so much to talk about. I'm thankful for sisters and the time to talk. Breakfast came after our walk and then it was time to go to the barn to put together another of the bunk beds. This second one went much better than the first and we were able to get it done before noon.
The bunk room will sleep 10 people once we get the mattresses on those bunk beds. This bedroom also has the on-suite bathroom. I needed to leave to get the shopping done for the reception on Saturday. I first went to Aldi and spent $70.00 getting a lot of the vegetables, the hamburger and lots of lunch meats. I had packed an insulated bag with some of those frozen packs so put all the meats and most of the veggies in that then drove to Sam's club where another $354.13 was spent on the fruit and more of the meat, cheeses, more veggies, dip, ice and more. The checkout lady was surprised the bill was not much more. She really expected it to be over $500.00 when she saw the cart.
All of that food needed to be carried into the barn and the refrigerated foods put in the refrigerator.
The table service was unpacked.
Jamie and Ralph are expecting more than 150 people. The cake needs to be picked up on Saturday morning at 9:30 am. When I got back to the house Mark was ready to go back to the barn for round 2. We worked on the bunk beds in bedroom 2 and finished that around 3:00 pm. This room sleeps 5 people and has an on-suite bathroom.
I needed to leave then to meet Ken Ober. He arrived with his black Arabian mare. He thought she might be in season but she was not. She was teased to both stallions and never showed once.
Mark went downstairs for some ice cream while I was gone. When I got back I worked on putting together what I could on the last set. He came back up around 5:00 pm and we finished the last bunk bed at 6:10 pm.
This bedroom has the bathroom just across the hall and also sleeps 5. We can now sleep 20 people in beds upstairs, plus there are 4 flip chairs in the game room that make 4 more twin beds or 2 queen size if put together. The barn now officially sleeps 28 with the king bed downstairs and if the queen hide-a-bed is used. The foaling apartment can host 6 more for a total of 34 people if booking for a family reunion.
I'm SO thankful that job is done. When I got back to the house 3 more of the mattresses were delivered so tomorrow I can put those on and see how they look. I got back to the house just too tired to cook so heated up some creamy chicken and wild rice soup I had frozen earlier. Mark declared it good! We are both tired and will need to head to bed soon. Dishes were left in the sink for the last 3 days. Tomorrow morning I'd better do the dishes before the walk while I still have energy.
