Free Heat

Sally was sticking her nose out early this morning as the grass is always greener on the other side. It really IS right now since the pond pasture has been grazed down and the mares should be taken off.

I didn't go over to the barn to start the cleaning until after breakfast this morning and ended up working until 1:30 pm but got all the laundry done, the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and living area cleaned. Mark was working on installing the new garage window while I was at the barn.

Sarah asked if I would go to their new house to give the kittens their first shots. Zion helped hold one of the kittens while Sarah held the other. I didn't stay as I wanted to work with Disco before Sarah brought the girls over to ride. They were getting their new cabinets installed and the electric hooked up to their new shed. Disco led very well to the round pen and just as I got him inside Sarah and the girls arrived.

I wasn't sure how he would react to having Zion in the round pen but he actually was curious and didn't do anything wrong. She helped move him around for a short video to show his big Friesian movement.

Disco is 87.5% Friesian and 12.5% Thoroughbred. That Thoroughbred blood is just enough to give him the extra endurance he would need for cross country, but the Friesian blood gives him the fantasy looks, Friesian movement and mind for ANY discipline. He is now weaned and ready for his new home. He really is a sweet colt.

After he was put away Missy was brought out. Sarah tacked her up and worked with all 3 of her girls. River is learning how to steer and stop Missy by herself.

They all had a good lesson including Missy.

After they left Mark and I took the golf cart over to check out the progress on Mike's new barn.

They got a lot done today. Mike left this morning to fly down to Gulf Shores. He will be pleased with the progress when he and Diane return on Oct 31st.  Today started out pretty cool but the sunshine made it feel nice IF we were standing out of the wind and in the sun. By this evening we were both feeling chilled so the wood burner was fired up for the first time this fall.
Above is when we first got it going now it is blasting out the heat and the house is already up to 73 degrees. I love this free heat.
