Trail Rides
Rhoda had an appointment to meet her boss at Jubilee State Forest for a trail ride. Zalena was the horse chosen today even though I tried to get her to take Bonnie pony. Before she left Bonnie was pulled out for some trick training.
This is one smart pony. I was actually glad she didn't take Bonnie because when Anni Davidovics, one of Karin's helpers arrived she chose to ride Bonnie on the death trails. Rachel also joined Karin and Anni for the practice ride. Tomorrow a youth group is coming out and Karin wanted to make sure the horses would all be well behaved. They came back from the death trails with exciting news, there are new trails down in the woods, well maintained and wide enough for 2 horses to walk abreast.
Karin had a very busy day here, working just about every horse on the property. She worked 6 or 7 before the trail ride and the rest after the trail ride. Rachel's camera was taken out when she started working the mares with foals.
First was Jewel and her very photogenic filly.
Sangria and her colt were next:
What an elegant colt with fabulous movement!
I thought she was bringing Jenis next when the wrong foal came out until I realized she was bringing Eliza. Olympia is starting to shed her foal coat and looks like she is wearing patches.
and finally Jenis and her filly:
Mike and Diane took their secretaries on a field trip to Middle Grove. They warned them this was like driving through Jurassic park. At one point one of the horses stuck her head completely inside the car through the window. Below is Helen and Lily begging for attention.
These horses just love people and not for treats, they just like the attention.
No cooking tonight Karin, Rhoda and I went to Gils for a delicious dinner.
