Hoerr Vet Clinic

We had an appointment to be at Hoerr Vet clinic to have Emma's uterus checked out at 10:00 am giving me enough time to remove the flat tire off the golf cart, load it into the car and take the car to Frenches for an oil change and tire repairs. Once Emily picked me up at Frenches we still had 15 minutes to move a few bales before loading Emma up and heading to Morton. The road construction is so bad we gave ourselves extra time to get there and were still a few minutes late.
Emma was well behaved, walking quietly into the building and into the stocks.
Emma had no fever but did have a snotty nose leading us to believe she lost the foal because of the herpes virus. That is why the pneumabort K shot is given but Emma was only 90 days along and that shot is not started until the 5th month of pregnancy. The good thing about this is once a mare aborts by contracting the virus she will never abort again because of that virus and won't have to be vaccinated every other month. Her uterus was tight and clean but there were a few floaties that came out with the lavage. She is suppose to go back tomorrow for final clean out. This is probably not necessary but recommended by the vet so..do I follow the vet's recommendation? I'm still praying about that, is the cost and time justified?
Once we were home I jumped back in the skid steer to continue moving bales. The middle paddock needed 2, Evan's paddock needed 1 and Piper's paddock needed 1. Piper's shelter needed a clean out also so she was put in the field while we worked.
Rhoda showed up to study with Emily but took a break to run me back to Hanna City to pick up the car.
