Zion's Game

Today was mowing day. As we have a wedding scheduled for Saturday and the bride's family is coming on Friday to set up we needed to get all the mowing done. I was out early checking mares. Rosaleigh was teased and when she showed was covered by Valiant. I went over to the barn before our walk to move chairs out of the way so we could get the lift moved.

I thought I might be able to move it myself but couldn't figure out how to get the wheels to turn. The floor scrubber is behind the lift and we were hoping to get that out to scrub the gym floor. Diane and I walked over to Joan's and never noticed her new car until she said something.
Neither of us are observant. This is just like her old van only instead of blue is silver. We should have noticed. It is a 2015 but in excellent condition and was a one owner van. When we got to mom's house we had to admire Diane's work. She brought in flowers made 2 beautiful arrangements and put one on the table and one on the coffee table.

I noticed mom had a new hairdo.
Only after we all admired it did we found out it was a hair piece Karin bought and added to her bun. Karin bought a bunch and tried them on all of us. After breakfast Mark and I went over to the barn to start putting up carpeting around the windows when the owner of the Mini Max sent a text they would be here in a few minutes. We left to meet them and help get it hooked up to their truck.
There were mowers going everywhere. Mike had the John Deere out doing the sides of the drive, Berlica was mowing the pastures with the diesel grasshopper. Mackenson was mowing mom's with the gas grasshopper and then switched to the walk behind. Mike took his Kubota out to the main road to mow around the Horsemeister sign and along the drive.

I used the golf cart checking for any stray manure piles I missed yesterday and found a couple but stopped to take some pictures of the pastures now that they are mowed. They look great, almost like a yard.
Above is Evan's pasture looking South and below is looking East. If the barn parking is full, the guests can drive through the gate and park in the East wing of the pasture.
Below also shows the barn drive and yards.
This afternoon I drove down to Meistes to pick up a bill and drop off the license sticker for the 2011 truck. From there a trip to Sam's club for groceries and when I got home cooked us an early supper as we both skipped lunch. We shared a sweet potato sprinkled with a bit of dark brown sugar, had steak tips smothered in mushrooms, fresh asparagus and sweet strawberries for dessert.
Right after we finished eating we needed to be on the way to the Christian Center to watch Zion play in an exciting ball game. Eden and River played on the playground while we were waiting for the game to start.

Zion had 2 hits and made it all the way to 3rd base one time and home the second time.
She played first base one inning, outfield for an inning and then finished the game as short stop.
At one point she got hit with a line drive right on her collar bone. She is going to have quite a bruise. She didn't come out of the game but when the game was over showed us the big knot.
Below is a video of some of the game.

We left for home before Eden's game started. It was thundering and as we started for home the rain came down. We were on the interstate heading home when we were passed by David and Lanae.
We drove through lots of rain but when we got home there was no puddles here. The rain was very spotty. Too bad we could have used more rain.
