I went out early to grain and was pleased to see that Rosalie's filly and Blueberry's filly are now eating grain and they like it.
We got a little rain during the night and I was so thankful. Every drop helps. The fields are so very dry. The picture below was taken on the way over to the barn at 6:30 am to get the 3 bathrooms cleaned before the walk. The mist was raising from the field.
The yellow and red iris are blooming.
On our walk we stopped at Diane's to check out her painting job. While the others were admiring that I was admiring Rosaleigh and Titus.
They will come over to my place tomorrow. Rosaleigh needs to be teased and we need to work with Titus in the round pen. Mike will take Blueberry, her filly, Rosalie and her filly to the cabin field. Mom, Aunt Jinnie and I left for Berean about 8:30 am. We were a little short handed there but were able to get everything done. Skip and Marvin are trying to find Bibles to buy again. Crazy how quickly we run out and how hard it is to find big quantities of them. Below Marvin is explaining to us how the ships with containers of goods are waiting to be unloaded. We are sure one of those ships have Bibles in them.
We stopped at the Hanna City post office on the way home to drop off the Bibles and studies going out today. It was a very full tub. It was so nice outside and since we had a little rain I decided to let the mares out in the field. I needed to tease Blueberry and she was on the other side of the pond. On the way across the dam I noticed all 3 sets of geese but one family only has 4 goslings.
Blueberry was not in season and let Valiant know emphatically to stay away.
As the 2 sets of mares with their 2 sets of foals have not been together yet I put Rosalie and Blueberry on the West side of the barn. They usually stay close to the arena to graze.
Blueberry's filly was very curious about the golf cart and had to check it out by sniffing it.
After I was sure they were busy grazing I went over to Dancer and Sheena's paddock to let them out. Below Dancer's colt is playing with a stick that fell into the paddock during the night.
The mares went right out to graze but Dancer's colt lost his mom for a short time and ran back into the paddock to look for her. I had to go in to have him follow me back out. The video below starts with Rosalie and Blueberry grazing then switches to Dancer and Sheena being let out and Dancer's colt getting lost. They were all grazing quietly until Rosalie saw the other two mares and came galloping over to greet them. Even then all was well until Blueberry and her filly arrived. Then all of them took off for the paddock.
I noticed the waterer was leaking again so sent Mike a picture.
He is going to change the valve. The mares and foals were put away before I met with the bride getting married this weekend to show her the best place for parking, where the best place is to set up for the outside wedding and the tables available. She was pleased and it should all work out well as long as the weather is nice. This afternoon a storm rolled in and dropped 3/10ths of an inch of rain. At 6:30 pm I showed the barn to a lady wanting to use it in December for a couple nights for a family get together. She thought it would be perfect for her group. Today was a good day.
