Working With Titus

I was out early checking Aiken. We got another half inch of rain and I sure didn't want her delivering in the now muddy paddocks. While out the stock trailer was taken off of the truck and the camper put on. I left at 7:30 am for Bobby's RV repair down on route 29 and arrived there at 8:00 am.  Unfortunately Bobby doesn't arrive until 8:30 am. I left him a voice message and a text and after about 5:00 minutes he called back and told me how to get into the yard and where to park it. That went ok but when I was trying to take the camper off the hitch would not release the ball. I tried jumping on the bumper, moving the truck forward a bit then back a bit and finally climbing in the back of the truck and jumping up and down but no luck. That ball just would not come loose.  I finally got my hammer and gave a big swing slamming it onto the hitch and that released the ball. On the way home the truck needed gas and while the gas was pumping took the straight hitch off and put on the drop down hitch as Joan needs the horse trailer tomorrow morning. Once home the horse trailer was hooked up to the truck, pulled forward and cleaned out.  By the time I made it back to the house it was 9:30 am. Mark had not yet had breakfast and since I didn't either cooked us a nice big breakfast. We went to the barn to work after breakfast. The lift needed to be cleaned off and moved as the drywall people are coming Tomorrow. I got that cleaned off then Mark moved the lift.

We went upstairs to work on the carpet next. The carpet around the windows is now all back on and Mark wanted a double layer around the walls where the drywall is going to protect the carpet underneath. That way once the drywall is done the top layer can just be pulled off. On the way back to the house I saw the fox out hunting in Evan's pasture.
As I was on the golf cart he or she wasn't sure if I was dangerous or not and I was able to get close.

He or she must be pretty young and inexperienced hunting in the daytime. Either that or hungry. A lady sent a message about Titus so after lunch the stalls were prepared and Titus and Aiken were brought into them. Below Titus is standing tied and was brushed down to remove any mud. He glows with good health.
I took the pictures for the website and also sent them by text to the lady interested.
Aiken was not groomed but she wasn't too muddy.
Later once the drizzly rain stopped Titus was taken to the round pen. I was so pleased with him. He remembered everything from last fall. I only used my voice and he responded well.

He really is a nice gelding, he wants to please. As Aiken was not happy in the stall without him in the barn she was put in the outdoor arena to graze. She had a nice roll and settled down to graze. Titus was put in with her.

They were left out for the rest of the afternoon. By 5:00 pm their stalls were cleaned and they were brought back in for the night. We left for church at 6:05 pm and were pleasantly surprised to find the Princeville and Bradford young groups visiting Peoria tonight. Caleb Plattner had the message tonight. Click HERE to watch that. We did not go to Culvers tonight.
