Today was kind of a lazy day. We were up at the regular time but no reason to go out early to check mares. The next one due is Aiken and she is not at all bagged up. I locked the two mares with the new foals in the paddock leaving the pasture gate wide open for later. We had a good walk, stopped in to visit with mom, Aunt Jinnie and Karin then went home to make breakfast. Right after breakfast both Mark and I went to work at the barn. I got the kitchen, living area cleaned up, the bed made and the towels folded and put away before going out to the gym. All of the sports equipment was put in the big storage closet.

Lazy Day
One of the lifetime tables needed a repair so once all of the tables were loaded on the 2 carts. Mark got his tools and fixed the one with the bent pole. It is almost as good as new. The bathrooms were restocked then it was time to go upstairs to put that back in order. The drywall ordered and Mark told them it has to come on or before Wednesday, and if it can't get here by then they have to wait until next week. We stopped working about 11:30 am. Whiskey was teased and is still in so covered by Evan. Tomorrow he will get the day off and I won't tease her again until Wednesday. After lunch I went out to start cleaning the mare pasture and as I was hooking up the manure wagon could hear light rain hitting the barn roof. It really was just sprinkling and we didn't get much but I was thankful for every drop. I didn't mind working in it as it was more like a mist.
By the time I finished there wasn't even a quarter of the wagon filled.
We have a decent manure pile but won't be spreading any of it until we get our first cutting of hay mowed, raked, baled and stored in the barn. The rest of the afternoon was spent reading the book Iris gave me called Black Storm Comin by Diane Lee Wilson. This book is based on the pony express and a good read. Since Berlica just did a project on the pony express I'll give it to her next. I stopped about half way through the book to get the dessert for Berean in the oven and finished the book before that was ready to come out of the oven. We will need to try this recipe before taking it to Berean. I'm calling it blueberry crunch. The crunch is made with walnuts because we have no pecans again.
After trying it we both liked it but I think it needs whip cream to finish so will make sure to bring some of that too.
