We had an interesting Sunday. I let Titus and Aiken out of the stalls at 5:15 am then took some French vanilla cream over to mom's house. Karin was up reading and I could see the lights on so felt free dropping it off. The stalls were cleaned then it was time to make breakfast. As Joan is in South Carolina and Ruth isn't back yet from Romania, Mark and I drove mom and Aunt Jinnie to church. Gregg Rumbold had the morning message. Click HERE to watch that. Bob and Myrna served lunch and of course that was really good. We serve the end of June and Mark wants to copy what they served. Mike Kaisner had the afternoon message. Click HERE to watch that. Randy and Kathy brought Nancy. Sarah was her teacher today and Nancy was thrilled with the paper she colored. She wanted to show everyone! After church and after taking mom, Nancy and Aunt Jinnie home I rushed into the house, changed out of my Sunday clothes and started moving horses. The farrier was going to come at 2:30 pm and we sure didn't want to make him wait. It hasn't been easy to get a farrier to come out this way so I was very glad when he offered to come even if it was a Sunday. Evan was taken to the outdoor arena to run some of that excess energy off. Titus and Aiken were brought into their stalls, then Sheena and her filly put in the other foaling stall. Rosalie was brought over from the cabin field. We had 7 horses needing trims. When Tyler arrived we had him start with Sheena. Her filly was very interested in what was happening to her mama.

MVP Honors
Tyler found the problem right away. She had stepped on an old screw. As long as it isn't infected it should heal up pretty quickly.
Titus was next. I was so proud of this young gelding. He was very good for Tyler.
Below is a video of Tyler trimming a front and a back. This was taken as we have someone coming to look at him and I wanted to make sure Titus would be good for the farrier and of course I wanted his hooves to look good for the prospective buyer.
Mike took Sheen and her filly out while Tyler trimmed up Aiken. Dancer was next and he just trimmed her in the paddock. In the picture below Dancer is on the other side of Sheena. She didn't stand as well as Mike expected but Tyler got the job done.
Rosalie was tied up at the breeding stand waiting her turn.
Below Rosalie is getting trimmed.
Once she was done Evan was brought from the outdoor arena and put in his paddock while Tyler and Mike went into Valiant's paddock to trim him. Evan was done last.
Once Tyler was paid and the horses all put away where they belonged, Mark and I left for Cracker Barrel in Morton to meet Rhoda and Lee's family for supper. We were going to take Nancy with us but Karin was cooking dinner for that household and wanted to keep Nancy until after dinner explaining she would take Nancy home later. We arrived to find that restaurant very busy.
I ordered the chicken campfire dinner but about 10 minutes after ordering that the waitress came back to tell us they were all out of that. Next I ordered the fried chicken salad but they didn't have the dressing so I finally just ordered a breakfast. Mark ordered the Louisiana shrimp skillet. He really enjoyed that.
The breakfast was good and very filling.
My guests in the foaling apartment had arrived by the time we got home and wanted to meet all of the horses. They loved them all but Blueberry's filly was for sure one of the favorites.
The other absolute favorite was Evan.
He is such a gentleman and loves to carefully take grass out of the children's hands. They just kept repeating, "This place is magical, this is beautiful, the horses are gorgeous!" I think we take it all for granted but I am thankful to live here and know we really are blessed!
David and Stephanie sent a couple pictures from their weekend in St Louis.
Israel's team won AND HE was the mvp of the tournament.
Pretty amazing!
