Uncle Ed's funeral was today at the Peoria church. Ken Hoerr had the actual service. He had us shaking our head (when he mentioned Eddie Carl was probably a good student for his dad when Uncle Ed taught Sunday School) and chuckling at some of Uncle Ed's sayings. It was good to be there, it was good to hear of his heart for service. It brought back so many memories of the Peoria choir trips, practices and the good clean fun we all had in our youth. The nephews, sons and grandsons all sang at the cemetery Supper Time.
We went back to the church for the meal and finally made it home around 2:20pm. There was a semi tractor horse trailer here to pick up Clair and Cor for their long trip to New Mexico when we arrived.
Carol Klopfenstein posted some old, very old pictures of Uncle Ed and the choir on some of our trips. Yes that's me in the funny looking flowered dress.
The afternoon was so gorgeous that Karin, Rhoda, Emily, Bethany and Faith decided to trailer Zalena, Marika, Jenis and Larry to Jubilee State Forrest for a trail ride. Marika is still in season and needed to be covered before loading. Karin put together the video below of some of their ride.
She also posted the pictures below. Bethany and Faith are riding Jenis while Rhoda is on Marika.
Below is Marika deciding to cool off with a roll. Unfortunately Rhoda was still on board.
As Indy, Ayanna and Killian are now at Middle Grove, they drove over to Ruth's and borrowed Larry for Emily. Karin is riding Zalena and taking the pictures.
Chuck Altic dropped off 4 loads of Hay (28 round bales) this afternoon and evening. Emily has been busy using the skid steer to stack them in the barn. Chuck is going to bring us another 3 loads tomorrow. We have also ordered 50 bales for Middle Grove which Mike will stack over at the new ground for the winter.
