Valiant Outdoors

After work today Steven arrived to work Valiant in the outdoor arena. I was very pleased with Valiant's behavior. This is the same arena we let the boys play, run, buck, rear and have fun in and we needed to know how he would act when he is asked to work instead of play. Steven warmed him up at the walk.

Did a few turns on the forehand asking Valiant to cross with his hind legs while turning.

Once Valiant was warmed up Steven asked him for a trot.

Then finished up with a few more turns on the forehand.

All of this helps supple the horse. It is very important to ask the horse to bend in both directions. Steven was happy with Valiant's effort and ended on a good note.
Ella was then brought out and teased. She is still in and covered. Zalena also seems to be coming in season and that is not what we wanted to see. We will have her ultra sounded on Thursday. Hopefully Dr. Hoerr can give us some idea of what to do next to get her to settle.
Mark and I headed to choir, just one more week of practice before our big benefit dinner. Carol Klopfenstein and Betty Miller served lunch afterwards. Carol made her specialty, a spinach cheese casserole that tastes wonderful.

We sure have a good time on Tuesday evenings. There is something so special about great fellowship and a good singing.
