Something caused me to awake out of a heavy sleep in the middle of the night, it took a while to figure out what that was. It was the sound of silence. Our electricity was off, not just ours but the entire block. The small sounds like the humming of a fan or the sound of the furnace (which was really needed last night)were gone, weird but even the dogs were not snoring. For a quick millisecond the thought flitted through my head that perhaps this was the beginning of the end, the silence before a nuclear blast or the pause in heaven before the trumpet blows. My mind at that point would not shut off and allow the so needed sleep.
When the dogs came in to wake us we had no idea what time it was as our clock was flashing 12:00 12:00 12:00 they insisted it was time so we dragged ourselves downstairs to let them out. Who needs an alarm clock when there are dogs in the house, it was 6:00am on the dot!
Today is jam packed with jobs, errands and work leaving no time for a nap before choir.
