Sunday School Picnic

Another early morning but this one was an easy morning. the only chores were just the horses let out of the stalls and the stalls cleaned. Breakfast was a leisurely affair sitting down at 8:10 am just as Mark got back from his walk. We picked up Rhonda then followed Ruth and mom to church. Amy and Ken came today so that was a treat.  Craig Stickling had the morning message on Psalm 35 and 2 John 1. To watch that click HERE. David who was down in the Spanish class for morning church and had no idea what Craig spoke on also spoke on Psalm 35 and Luke 7. Click HERE to watch that. If you have time and even if you don't, you should listen to both of these messages. The Holy Spirit was HERE! Tim and Debbie served a delicious lunch. Right after church Mark and I drove straight to the barn to check it out after the big graduation party. This party left the doors open almost the entire afternoon and evening. We walked into the kitchen and the floor is all sticky with lots of flies. The gym floor was full of smashed and some unsmashed June bugs. I sure wish they had shut the doors before the night bugs found their way into the lighted gym. It was pretty discouraging and even worse the lady that booked sent the message, we LOVED the place and WILL BE BACK (shudder shudder). Oh well Mark has offered to help with the floors tomorrow and with a little labor from both of us we should get it back in shape. We did no cleaning just looked around then went back to our house so I could bake a blueberry pecan crumble cake. That takes about an hour and a half to make which gave me just enough time before we had to leave for the Sunday School picnic. Ruth drove the wheelchair van taking mom and Nancy, Mark and I drove separate. That was a lot of fun. The food was delicious.

We sat next to Hannah and Jacob and Chelise was standing hanging on mom's wheel chair smiling up at great grandma.
After supper Nancy went swinging on the swingset while waiting for the games to start. She had a BALL tonight. She was laughing so hard with each game.

After the younger kids were done it was time for the older kids.

Below are the winners of the watermelon race.
The cool whip race was funny. There was a piece of bubble gum in the middle of the pile of coolwhip. Without using any hands they had to find the gum and blow a bubble.

The sack race came next.
Then came the wheel barrow races.

The tug of war races were fun to watch. They had all different catagories but the last one was the teachers against the kids.

Then came the water balloons. They played a catch game which David's team won then it was a free for all.

Nancy had the best time of everyone! She loved playing and watching the games. When we got home from the picnic it was 8:00 pm and Sheena still needed to have her bandage changed. She is still very swollen and sore but when she saw me coming with the grain bucket she cantered for the gate.
The filly likes the grain too.
I still need to bring in hay for the stalls and got a big wheelbarrow full to divide between Aiken's and Titus' stall.
They were both glad to come into their stalls. Once back at the house I was working on the videos when we lost electricity. I was temped to just go to bed but it came back on pretty quickly so decided to just finish and write the blog then head to bed. Mark has already hit the sack and I will be quick to follow.
