Hard Labor

I dreaded the work today but my reading today was such an encouragement to persevere and finish the building. I went out at 6:00 am, moved the horses, cleaned the stalls then went to the barn and put in a good 45 minutes wiping down ceilings and walls. I quit for the walk then after breakfast went right back to work and after 3 hours of sweeping first with the push broom then the regular broom and finally the wet dry vac the game room was ready for mopping but my arms were not ready to mop. I went home for a break. The dry wall dust is so fine and spread everywhere. I needed to move the netting from the batting cage. Notice the design on the floor. That was were the net was before I moved it.

So much drywall dust. After about an hour rest I went back to start the mopping. Below I'm less than half done.
I quit at 3:30 pm to meet my airbnb guest who wanted to meet the horses then went back later to check the job and will have to mop again. By the time I washed down the stairs the bucket of water had to much dust in and the stairs also need to be washed again. I keep telling myself it will be worth the work once the rooms are finished. Today was considered a hard labor day. I cleaned up and Mark and I left for the Bartonville diner to meet Amy and Ken at 5:00 pm for our dinner. We were celebrating our birthdays, just a little late. Ken ordered the walleye senior special.
Mark ordered a reuben and shared a bit with me as I ordered a salad.
Amy ordered French toast which came with 3 slices of bacon. We all took food home. On the way home we stopped at mom's. Ruth was there with Rebekah's van and Rebekah's children. Mom was out watering flowers so we sat on the deck and watched the kids play in the lake.
The other entertainment was watching Rachel painting her house.
When Kari and Bret's boys came came, Jordan and Riley went to the playground with them so Ruth felt free to come up on the deck with the younger kids and visit with us.
I needed to leave by 8:00 pm as I still needed to put a new wrapping on Sheena's hoof and give her an antibiotic shot. She was also given bute tonight as she is favoring the leg today more than yesterday. She will get to spend one more night outside and then come in to the stall tomorrow afternoon before the rain comes. The last job of the day was to prepare the stalls for Aiken and Titus then call them in.
