Feeling Foolish

We had plans, good plans today but that all got changed. Mark and I went over to the barn early and carried up the 5 gallon bucket of primer and the 2 ten gallon buckets of paint along with all the paint supplies. Mark then left for Lowes to pick up the ceiling paint. Just as I was getting ready to start, I got notification from Airbnb about someone wanting the barn today. SO instead of painting, the furniture was moved back against the wall, the painting supplies all put back and the game room floor mopped again to remove the dry wall dust we had so carefully removed from the walls. The stairs needed to be scrubbed, the bathrooms given a quick cleaning just in case anyone had used them then the gym floor was swept. The water cooler needed refilled. When Mark got back he helped put the barriers up again in the construction area so no one would go in there and spread more drywall dust. That took all morning. The guests were moving in at 1:00 pm so I was really glad to quit work at that time. Sarah and Nolan arrived and of course the girls wanted to ride Cookie.

Zion is a natural, she loves cantering Cookie. Her friend Lilly wanted to ride Cookie too.
Sarah worked with all of the kids letting each one ride under her supervision. When Eden and Zion were done riding they got on the golf cart and we went over to see Valerie and Tessa. Except when I took a good look at those 3 year old fillies I realized ONE of them is not a 3 year old and is not Tessa. We brought home 2 year old Thalia instead of 3 year old Tessa. That is Thalia in front of Valerie.
Tessa has her mane on the left side of her neck whereas Thalia has hers on her right side. Now I feel really foolish! We will need to take Thalia back out to Middle Grove to let her grow up another year and bring back 3 year old Tessa. I know why I was confused, Tessa was standing with Thalia's dam Leah so I just assumed the one standing with Valerie had to be Tessa. UGH! The good news is Thalia is maturing beautifully. She has amazing conformation with that long excellent set on neck, short back and rounded rump. Valerie is in the blue halter and Thalia in the green halter.
They were staring at Eden who was on top of the golf cart.
Cooke was put away after the kids were finished riding.
They headed to the playground and I took off for Sam's club to pick up the groceries for the Father's Day supper Sunday.  On the way home from Sam's I stopped at Aldi to pick up a few items I did not want to buy at Sam's then home to put the groceries away and start supper.  Tonight we had brisket, asparagus, avocado and a salad.
The asparagus was over cooked and mushy. I bought enough to serve tomorrow so will need to greatly reduce the cooking time. I hard boiled eggs and will try a different recipe using the eggs on the asparagus. As we are serving hamburgers again on Sunday I wanted to make a cream cheese herb mixture for one of the toppings.  That was 2 blocks of cream cheese, 3 tablespoons of mayo, 2 teaspoons of Italian seasoning and a table spoon of fresh minced garlic.
Hope they like it. At 8:00 pm I went out to the barn to fill the stalls with hay and fresh water. Sheena was grained as were the 2 stallions and grain put in the stalls for the horses tonight. They were brought in about 8:30 pm. Dan sent a beautiful sunset picture from Mark Twain lake  taken with his phone.
