We had a wonderful Father's day celebration starting with church. We picked up Braelyn for church today and were so happy she was able to come with us. Gregg Rumbold had the Father's day message this morning. It isn't up yet on AC Central but once it is, I will post it here. At lunch I noticed Dexter and Anthony, who are first cousins were so glad to see each other.
There was also a little girl their age and Dexter was fascinated with her, but I think it might have been her shoes he was interested in. Those sneakers look pretty fast.
Mike Kaisner had the afternoon message and it too will be posted here once up on AC Central. After church we had the Father's Day celebration at the barn so as soon as I got home the oven was turned on to 400 degrees and the potatoes and sweet potatoes that were wrapped in aluminum foal this morning were place in the oven to bake. Next 4 pounds of bacon was fried up. Mark took the 10 pounds of hamburger over to start grilling at the barn while I finished making the hollandaise sauce for the baked asparagus. Once the asparagus was baked the hard boiled eggs were sliced and added then right before serving the hollandaise sauce was poured over. We had a feast.
We had cake and ice cream for dessert. After supper we all migrated out to the playground. The volley ball games were fun to watch as were the kids on the playground equipment. Dexter thought he could play and got ready with his hands to hit the volleyball.
Below is a short video of the fun at the playground.
Diane and Mike got back from their boat trip on the Mark Twain lake. This was their trial as in two weeks they are taking it up to Minnesota. Diane reported they were comfortable camping overnight in a cove on the lake one night and the second in the marina. I updated them on how well Sheena is doing and also talked about Aiken. We are a little worried this might be from the tall fescue grass. As of Tomorrow she will have been pregnant for an entire year. We googled the problem and think we need to ask Dr. Hoerr if there is something we can give to help her develop milk in her udder. They will be left out tonight as her udder is flat.
