Loading the BULL

We arrived around 7:30am at Wildlife Prairie Park. As we were driving into the park a doe is posing for a picture. One would almost think the park hired her to pose.
We arrive at the bull pen and were actually shocked at how big this 4 year old bull was. Below Emily, Fede, John and Rhoda are discussing how they are going to get this big boy up into the trailer
I've posted a couple pictures of this big fellow below.

He seemed like a real sweet heart, coming up for kisses from the girls.

The park employees arrived after a few minutes to unlock the gate. They thought this bull would follow them right into the trailer but it wasn't to be. The gate was opened, the trailer backed into place and the bull came running and started attacking the gate banging it around, picking it up and shoving it against the trailer.

Plan B was Fede taking a bucket of grain to get his focus off the gate and onto him. (brave Fede)
This didn't work well so a skid steer was brought over. The bull faced off at that machine so Fede jumped in again. Now we are not sure if Fede is really just that brave or not that bright. He ran over to the bull twirling a lead rope.

The bull took off for the lead rope but then had to run and buck around a bit.

The rest of us, me included were careful to stay on the other side of the gates. This boy could easily smash right through. They finally got him up against the trailer and the gates up against him, brought the skid steer up to keep him from backing up. Fede got a lead rope around his neck while John, Emily and a couple of park employees pushed.
That didn't work, the bull would not pick up his feet to step up into the trailer so John brought up a 4 inch round post levered it under to see if he would pick up his feet. Nope, wasn't going to happen.
Next they tried putting the  post behind him pushing while Tyler, Fede's employee and Rhoda pulled from the inside and no that didn't work either. This guy weighs a LOT.
Finally after discussing all the options the decision was made to get the cattle prod.
A nose lead and the cattle prod did the job, he jumped in the trailer and as he jumped in everyone in the trailer jumped out the side door. Emily went with John to help unload but it wasn't needed. That bull was so glad to see John's cows he jumped right out of the trailer. Now he gets to learn to be a real bull with his own harem.
I was thankful that Sarah was home to watch Israel so I could go and record all the fun. Sarah, Rhoda and Emily are now over at Rachel's working on building a house. Rachel is training the girls how to build a house from the ground up. She enjoys projects so much that if anyone wants to hire her to put up a house with girl labor, she is for hire. (that was said tongue in cheek)
