Wonderful Sunday

We had a wonderful Sunday! I went out at 5:45 am to check on Madiera. I was going to wait until it became light enough to see but it was really cold this morning. If she had delivered I needed to make sure the foal was up and dry. She hadn't! So was left out. There was no food prep to do for tonight's dinner as that was done last night so the only thing needing to be done was to cook breakfast then shower for church. We picked up Rhonda around 9:00 am and headed straight to church. Joan had already arrived with mom and right after we got there Kathy and Randy came in with Nancy. Nancy was so glad to see us as we were gone last Sunday. Gregg Rumbold had the morning message on Psalm 133 and Collossians 2 click HERE to watch that message but note you will need to skip the first 12:20 minutes before it actually starts playing. Nancy was pretty thrilled, she got to go to Sunday school today. She is so excited about the paper she colored she could hardly sit to eat lunch. She had to show it to just about everybody. Craig Stickling had the afternoon message on the minor prophets starting with Ezra. He actually read out of Jeremiah 25 and 29 and then Ezra 1. click HERE to watch that. After church I went first to check on Madiera. She is still waxing but I could also tell that some of the colostrum had run down her legs when she walked. She was left out but with the plan to put her in a stall tonight. We had a fun group at the barn for our dinner. Sarah and Nolan's family made it home from Gulf Shores so they got to tell us about their 2 weeks there. Joan's family came along with mom and Nancy, David and Stephanie's family came and Elisabet told us about Israel smelling smoke at grandma Martha Kay's house and how he saved their house from burning down. Rhoda and Lee's chidren came with painted faces. Iris was a unicorn and Zeke was a tiger. Diane and Mike came along with Amy and Ken. Dan and Susan came after supper. They took Nancy home tonight. When taking mom back to the house we stopped to watch the volley ball players, there were so many little children enjoying the playground equipment while the adults played on the volley ball court. Dad would have loved it all. He loved his children and loved to see them play together. It was getting dark by the time people started leaving. I brought Madiera into the stall but she was not happy in the barn by herself so once she was settled Missy was brought in and put in the stall opposite. Then she settled right down. I have her on the foaling camera and am watching her. She is not acting like she is in labor but I'm happy she is not outside just in case she would go into labor. The temperature is dropping quickly now that the sun is down.

The moon looked to be full tonight. The phone camera is zoomed in as far as possible in the picture below but the moon doesn't quite look right.
Sarah posted pictures of the lion pride we came upon. This pride had 3 females with 11 cubs between them.

The jeep was driven right up to them and they looked at us but were not at all threatened. They have gotten used to the thousands of tourists. It really was a wonderful Sunday.
