Chuck's Funeral

Today was Chuck Hemmer's funeral. Mom, Joan and I left at 8:50 am so we had time to go through the visitation line before the funeral.  We made it through the line but barely. The funeral started a little late. It was VERY good to be there. Mike Reiker had most of the message. Click HERE if you would like to watch. We didn't go to the cemetery nor did we stay for lunch. On the way home we had to laugh at the blow up fish waving at us.

As soon as I got home I had Mark help move a bale in for Valiant then we both started driving to the barn just as David arrived with Israel and Elisabet. Israel was hired to help Mark today and they started with scrubbing the living area floor.

As soon as they were finished with the gym floor they went out to kill weeds with fire.
Elisabet helped clean up all the toys in the toy area then I took her over to mom's to see the kittens.

We had almost finished the barn when Mark needed a break so Israel went with me to put Madiera and her filly away. The filly was very curious about Israel.

She liked him! She is just 4 days old loves attention from people. David needed to leave before 4:00 pm. and once they left Mark and I went back to the barn to finish most of the work there.  Anna sent the pictures below of Taegan's softball team. They won regionals!

Pretty impressive. They play sectionals on Tuesday, if they win that game they go to state and will play that on Saturday. Mark and I left for church at 6:15 pm to hear Lisa's testimony. Lisa has quite a story and we have been blessed to get to know her. Our day opened with a funeral at church then closed with a testimony at church. This was a special day as we spent so much with our church family. I really am thankful for Peoria!

  1. I so hated not to be there for Uncle Chuck’s funeral. We had a grandson born this week and had a two year old to take care of. Would have been nice to see you once again after all these years. —Ann Klopfenstein Bailes
