After that late night and the grief we all felt when we heard Charlie Kirk was assassinated yesterday it really was hard to get out of bed. Charlie was vocal about his faith in Jesus and was martyred for that faith. I found this written about Charlie and want to share it here: On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk, a husband, a father, a leader, and a bold defender of freedom and faith, was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. The sound of that gunfire didn’t just echo across a campus. It ripped through a family. It shook a nation. I can’t stop thinking about his children, babies now, but one day old enough to search his name. Imagine them stumbling across the video of their father’s final moments, preserved online forever, replayed by strangers as “news.” How do you explain that kind of cruelty? How do you protect their hearts from being crushed by the world’s indifference? And his wife, oh God, comfort his wife. How do you close your eyes at night knowing the love of your life was ripped away, not by sickness or time, but by violence? By hate? By evil? The world scrolls on. Headlines shift. But for his family, the ache remains. Sharp. Raw. Holy. Charlie wasn’t just another public figure. He was a voice, a prophetic voice in a generation drowning in compromise and confusion. He stood unashamed for freedom. He proclaimed truth. He preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ with courage in a world that rewards silence. His only crime? Daring to speak boldly. Daring to call people to think. Daring to help a generation break free from mental chains. Now, his voice has been silenced. Hear me: I don’t want those voices in my room when I’m praying for the impossible. I want warriors. People who will grab hold of heaven and not let go. People who will stand when the world says bow. People who will believe God when everything in the natural screams otherwise. Yes, Charlie has now heard the words every believer longs for: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” But the fight he carried is not buried in the grave—it’s been handed to us. If his life stirred something in you, then honor him not with tears alone, but with action. • Pray with fire. Not polite whispers—groanings that shake heaven. Cry out for his wife. For his children. For our nation. For revival. • Speak truth boldly. To your family. To your coworkers. To your neighbors. Don’t dilute Jesus to make Him easier to swallow. • Push back against darkness. Preach the gospel. This is the call of every disciple. • Refuse spiritual apathy. Enough of lukewarm Christianity. Enough of silence. Enough of compromise. This isn’t just about a man. This is about a mantle. A torch has fallen, will we pick it up?

Grieving
Friends, enough is enough. The enemy thinks he silenced a voice, but if we rise, if we burn brighter—then Charlie’s legacy will not just live on. It will multiply.
God, comfort his wife. Surround his children. Let his legacy echo for eternity through their lives and through every young person he awakened to truth.
Let his death be a trumpet blast in the spirit. A wake-up call to a slumbering church. A fire in our bones that screams:
Not on our watch.
We grieve. We mourn. But we do not bow to fear.
We rise.
I went out to check on Madiera and her filly as they spent the night outside last night. They were in the shelter and the filly had laid down by the gate and rolled partially under it. I just opened the gate, she jumped up and both went out of the shelter. She didn't seem to be anxious to nurse so couldn't have been there long. I left to walk with Ruth and Joan. Diane called while we were walking and joined us by phone. They made it to Gulf Shores about 9:30 pm last night with the sailboat turned solar coaster. They were able to park it at Beth's then head straight to bed. Today they will put it in the water. Rachel and David stopped at Woodville, AL and went to Stephen's Gap an interesting hole in the ground. They first saw it from the top then went underground to see the cavern. This place is amazing! Rachel sent the picture below of David exploring the cavern with his headlight on.
Around noon I was going to bring Madiera and her filly into their stall as it was getting hot outside but stopped first to get a picture of this 2 day old filly and a short video.
They were brought in, the water bucket and hay feeder filled. When I got back I had a picture come up from one of Irish's colt's by Valiant and was thrilled to be able to share it.
This is why I wanted the Gypsy mares. We bred Harli (the 8 year old) to Evan Aug 26th. Hopefully we can get Dr. Hoerr to ultrasound her next week and hopefully she settled. Our neighbor sent a text that he had 5 dozen eggs for sale if we wanted them. Joan wanted 2 dozen so I took the rest. I was taking the eggs to mom's house but needed to stop as DLM was just coming from Mike and Diane's after dumping another load of gravel.
Mark took the truck to his physical therapy then after that appointment went to Sheridan lumber to pick up plywood he needs for the garage. He has been rebuilding that garage and has been able to use lots of left over lumber scraps but finally ran out of plywood.
Tonight for supper I steamed some vegetables, grilled a couple hamburgers, warmed up some left over calico beans, washed, sliced then sautéed some mushrooms, added a slice of onion and pickle, removed the seeds from a slice of watermelon from Gary and Marie, then called Mark to supper. After supper Mark mentioned he was going to have some ice cream and only then did I see the steamed vegetables. I had put them on top of the freezer while reheating the calico beans and then forgot to serve them. Mark was told he could have some ice cream after he ate some vegetables. We both had to laugh at that. He took a couple bites then put the rest in the fridge for tomorrow. Beth and Greg brought dinner over for mom tonight. I stopped in for a short visit then went back to the barn to put Madiera and her filly back out in the paddock. The stall was cleaned before coming back to the house.
